Retired Air Force and currently T-38  Branch Manager

What you should know about Jamie:

Love to talk fishing and be able to exchange tips on how too's with new and old tackle and better ways to help with fish conservation.

How Jamie started fishing

Started fishing with my grandfather when I could start walking. He was my Bill Dance growing up and credit everything I do now to him.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

My dream is to fully retire and be able to travel and around fishing various lakes.

Favorite way to fish

Soft plastic in the spring and summer and crankbait in the fall.

Most exciting fishing experience

When I was 19 I threw a buzz bait across an open area of a giant weed bed and as soon as it rolled over a log, the 10lber that is on my wall inhaled it.

How Jamie preps for a tournament

Really no water prep.  My will power to leave an area alone when the fish are biting is a solid zero.

Three favorite search baits

Spinner bait, creature bait of some sort and a crankbait

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

1st place and ended up grabbing a crankbait and grinding it out.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

It is the fact that everyone starts out even keel and then at launch, it is all about who has the best technique and the pure grind to get them in the boat.

When tournaments don't go my way

You just continue to adapt. Practice, Practice Practice.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

It's never easy.  You will have work for what you get.  The more you put into the sport that more you get back so please take crare of the fish.  This is a growing sport that we collectively need to support the conservation of all the fish. Do your homework and research.
