What you should know about Miller:

Love to fish, cant live without it.

How Miller started fishing

I started fishing by bream fishing, then I transitioned to salt water fishing, then I had a good friend of mine introduce me to bass fishing and I was addicted.I started to watch the B.A.S.S. series and I knew that I wanted to be on that circuit one day, my friend and I fished Rodman one day and we stopped at a tackle shop and I saw a flyer for the ABA and I thought "why not?". Now all I think about is bass fishing and want to do it professionally.

Aspirations or goals with fishing

Take everything one day at a time with progressing through the ranks, get to the point whewre i feel like i can compete on the highest level and take my shot at it!

Favorite way to fish

Offshore, offshore, offshore! anything and everything to do with offshore bass fishing i'm all over it! Really grown to enjoy finding the spot within the spot on lakes and riveres around me, lot of fun pulling up to an active school and just wearing them out!

Most exciting fishing experience

I was fishing Rodman reservoir and I was throwing a spook along a long point and I had a double digit fish come up and completely miss the bait, that definitely had my heart going a million miles a second.

How Miller preps for a tournament

Pre-fish. If im on a local lake that ive fished before ill go over spots that ive caught them in the past and branch off of what ive found, if im on a new place ill go over what fish should be doing and go from there. Check local forcast for that area, look to see if theres a big spike or drop in barometric pressure, make sure everything is good to go with the boat. Get as much sleep as possible.

Three favorite search baits

Crankbait

Carolina Rig

Lipless Crankbait

Best tournament finish and what you did that day when you were fishing.

The first tournament ive won was probably the best day and the most gratifying

Day before the tournament my trolling motor crapped out on me, the actual motor seized up and would no longer turn.

Called every local shop just seeing if one place had someting, last shop i called they said they had a 12/24v motor guide brute, got it for 50 bucks, went back out on the water that day after switching it. found several schools of big fish and won the next day with 22.29lbs, crazy day and the day before was even crazier. Moral of that story, Never Give Up.

Most challenging part of tournament fishing

Not having bites, its not just no fun but it breaks you down mentally. You start to second guess yourself and start to doubt yourself. When that happens you begin to self destruct.

When tournaments don't go my way

I think about what I've done right and what I could have done better, as well as what I've done correctly. In this sport it is very easy to beat yourself up, try not to. As much as you want to win, catching fish isn't life or death, it doesn't define who you are. Bass fishing is 99% mental and 1% physical. Always try to be positive, its harder than it sounds! It's funny, when you get home after a tournament you start to look at baits that would have worked for that day and you start to kick yourself.

Advice to give to an aspiring tournament angler:

Don't worry about placing first or cashing a check, here is an example - Kevin VanDam, legend of the sport. He has won 25 times out of 309 tournaments, that means his win percentage is .08 dont worry about trying to win, go out there and trust yourself and your ability and have fun!

Some shared general bass fishing techniques for people just getting into the sport

No bass on this planet can resist a squarebill crankbait, no bass on this planet can resist a senko, most important  - Get out there and have FUN!
