Mail and Online Registration: July 1, 2013 - October 1st. Top 250 must accept invitation by September 9th. The remaining slots will be filled from a list of qualified and pre-registered anglers.
Entries after October 9th will be accessed a $25.00 late fee
- NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: Contestants must have qualified through their local district (see 2013 tournament rules) in order to participate in the 2013 National Championship. Contestants must have met the minimum requirements of qualification which is the successful completion of four (4) one-day tournaments and one two-day tournament. After all two day events are completed, the top 500 national point holders will be invited to compete in the National Championship, the top 250 points holders will be guaranteed boater status. All true non-boaters who meet qualifications will be paired with top boater point’s leaders. The top boaters’ by points will be linked with participating non-boater. Anglers invited to participate as a boater that are not linked with a non-boater, must provide an observer for all competition days to insure guaranteed boat use. Those anglers who are not paired with a true non-boater and/or do not provide an observer will not be guaranteed boat use and will be paired with another boater at the Tuesday night pairings. Boaters are encouraged to register with a divisional non-boater to insure both anglers have a slot. The top qualifiers (boaters) will be notified of their boater status on September 25, 2013. Headquarters will not provide observers. The championship lake will be off limits beginning at sunset on October 6, 2013 until safe light October 22, 2013. Contestants must be paid in full prior before going on the water to practice. During official practice contestants may only pre-fish alone, with a member of his/her immediate family, another contestant of the tournament, a sponsor of American Bass Anglers or a member of American Bass Anglers staff. Contestants may not receive assistance from anyone other than another contestant for the purpose of locating or catching fish after pairings for the first tournament day has been made. The National Championship is worth 2000 points to the winner. Points will be awarded in 5 point decreasing increments depending on place of finish. Competition Team Anglers of the Year will be determined by the best four 1 day district finishes plus best 2 day finish plus points received at the Nationals. The same person is not eligible to win more than one prize/draw boat from American Bass Anglers during the same calendar year. In the event the winner of the National Championship is also Angler of the Year, he/she will be awarded second place prize money from the National Championship payout matrix. Second place in the National Championship tournament will be awarded the National Champion boat. Anglers winning the Angler of the Year or National Championship boats will not be eligible for the draw boat. The championship will be a six day event. Sunday thru Tuesday will be official practice and Wednesday thru Friday will be the official tournament days.
