Buzzeo Wins on Potomac River

April 15, 2023, Murbury, MD.  Anthony Buzzeo of Laplata, MD won the American Fishing Tour Maryland Division 11 tournament presented by American Bass Anglers.  Running out of Smallwood State Park near Indian Head, MD. Anthony brought back five-fish that locked in the scales at 17.81 lbs anchored by the tournament big bass of 4.79 lb.  “I fished one of my favorite spring areas with a chatterbait and senko”

Second place was claimed by John Lambert with five fish and a total weight of 16.31 lbs with a 3.94 lb kicker. 

Kevin Simpson took third with five fish at a total weight of 15.58 lbs.

First and second-place tournament winners were both Non-Boaters and put together an impressive winning strategy to take the day.

Anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.

The American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All anglers fish for both money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the US will be invited to the American Fishing Tour National Championship next October at Lake Hartwell.
