2023 Open Series Registration
November 7, Athens, AL. Registration will open on November 14, 2022, for the 2023 Open Series. The 2023 season will offer 16 divisions, Alabama North, Alabama South, Florida Central, Florida South, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee Central, Tennessee East, Texas East, Texas Southeast, and Virginia. Each of these divisions will offer four one-day Divisional qualifying events and one two-day Divisional Championship.
The Open Series is a Boater/Co-Angler format, sometimes referred to as a Pro-Am. Boaters compete against Boaters, and Co-Anglers compete against Co-Anglers.
Each Open Series Division offers four (4) one-day events and a two-day Divisional Championship. Anglers not only earn cash awards at these events, but they also earn points. The points are used to determine the Divisional Anglers of the Year, and the top ten (10) Boaters and top ten (10) Co-Angler from each division by points after their Divisional Championship advance to the Ray Scott Championship. The Ray Scott Championship will be held in the spring of 2024 at a site that is not yet named.
Boaters pay a $210 entry fee for a one-day divisional event and $310 for a two-day Championship. Co-Anglers pay $105 for a one-day divisional event and $155 for a two-day Championship.
The series offers a great payout where Boaters can take home a payout of $5000 for a one-day event win and $6,000 for a Divisional two-day, both with a minimum field of 60 Boaters.
Anglers can register online as a package. A package is when anglers register for all five (5) events within a division, which includes four divisional events and the two-day Divisional championship.
As an incentive to register for an online package registration, all package registrations between 11/14/2022 and 12/19/2022 will receive a free ABA Membership renewal and a Freedom Pass at no charge. A Freedom pass allows anglers to check in with the director via phone at the onsite registration and are exempt from attending the meeting held the evening before the event.
Caymas Boat Owners will receive a three-year membership (new or renewal).
