Tommy Pegues III wins Division 24 Tournament on the Alabama River

December 4, 2021, Prattville, AL. Nineteen anglers launched from Cooters Pond Park near Prattville, AL.  Twelve of those anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed Tommy Pegues III from Montgomery, AL took the victory with 11.83 pounds.  For the win Pegues took home $522 in prize money.

Second amongst the competitors was Brett Nelson with five that locked in the scales at 11.16. His bag was anchored by a 3.91 pound lunker.  For his efforts he took home $308 in prize money plus another $95 for Big Bass. 

Third place was claimed by Troy Woodham with five and a total weight of 10.80.  For his efforts he took home $101.

The next tournament in this division will take place on January 8, 2022 launching from Higgins Ferry Boat Ramp on Lake Mitchell.

These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.

The American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All anglers fish for both money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the US are invited to the American Fishing Tour National Championship for next fall on Lake Eufaula in Alabama.
