Ingram Wins Area 3 Championship on Lake Eufaula

ATHENS, Ala. –Ryan Ingram won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series Area 3 Championship tournament, held October 9TH & 10TH, 2021 on Lake Eufaula.

Running out of Lakepoint Resort State Park in Eufaula, AL the Phenix City, AL angler caught a two-day total of ten bass weighing 27.62 pounds. For the Boater Division victory, Ingram took home a check for $3600 for his win.

“I caught a few of my fish 20ft deep in some wood, and I caught a few fish in brush, an a few on the bank each day. Each day I weighed in two spotted bass. It was so hard to get a bite, it would be 1:00pm before I would have a limit. “ Ingram said. 

In second for the boaters, Bo Washam of Midland, GA landed a two-day total of ten bass weighing 23.89 pounds including a kicker that weighed 4.94 pounds.

“I caught my fish on spinnerbaits, jigs, and frogs in shallow water on the lower end of the lake.” Washam said.

Adam Byrd of Smiths, AL took third for the boaters with a two-day total of ten bass weighing 22.97 pounds.

“I caught my fish on a square-bill crankbait in 3ft-5ft deep targeting rock and rip-rap.” Byrd said.

The big bass award for the boaters went to Scott Sheffield of Hawkinsville, GA for a big bass that weighed 5.40-pounds.

“I caught that big bass under a dock on a jig on the lower end of the lake late in the day.” Sheffield said.


Finishing fourth, Scott Daughtry of Abbeville, AL landed a two-day total of ten bass weighing 22.42 pounds. Rodger Beaver Jr of Dawson, GA rounded out the top five boaters and landed a two-day total of ten bass weighing 21.96 pounds.

In the Co-Angler Division, John Burt of Pike Road, AL won with a two-day total of six bass that weighed 12.00 pounds. He pocketed a check for $1600 for his win.

“On day one, I caught my fish drop-shotting and shaky-head in front of grass. I did catch my big fish yesterday on a frog. On day two, I caught my fish on a shaky-head and a Texas rig worm. We were fishing the lower lake area.” Burt said.

Taking second for the co-anglers, Joe Chilcott of Crestview, FL brought in a two-day total of five bass that weighed 10.12 pounds.

“I caught my fish on a shaky-head behind Ryan (Ingram) on day one and I only had two fish. On day two, I threw a Zoom Bait Horny Toad and a Big Bite Bait Fighting Frog around grass and docks. I caught two nice fish that saved me.” Chilcott said. “

Chase Osborne of Phenix City, AL placed third among the co-anglers with a two-day total of six bass that weighed 8.64 pounds.

“I caught my fish on a crankbait and chatter-bait both days.” Osborne said.

The big bass award for the co-anglers went to Carlos Howard of Athens, GA for a big bass that weighed 3.95-pounds.

“I caught that big bass on a junebug red Zoom Bait Ol’ Monster worm in the grass within the last 10 minutes of the day.” Howard said.
 


In fourth place among the co-anglers, Mark Carlson of Peachtree City, GA brought in a two-day total of five bass that weighed 8.47 pounds. Brian Lasiter of Elba, AL finished in fifth place with a two-day total of four bass that weighed 8.37 pounds.


At the end of the season, the best anglers from across the nation advance the 2022 Ray Scott Championship to be held at Lake Eufaula in April, 2022.

January 8, 2022, Clanton, AL.  Thirty-three anglers launched from Higgins Ferry Park Ramp near Clanton, AL.  Twenty-four of those anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed Michael M. Smith of Andalusia, AL took the victory with 14.71 pounds.  For the victory Smith took home $723 in prize money.

Tom and Missy take the win and the GLine Battery $100 Bounty on Cooper River

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day on the Cooper River with mild temperatures and sunny skies!  We had eight teams come out to compete with every team bringing fish to the scales.  Several teams commented on how clear the water was and how many big bass they watched swimming but couldn’t get to bite.  It seems that the most productive bite was on crank baits and worms.  

Tom and Missy Bancroft took First Place with 5 largemouth bass weighing 8.15 lbs. earning $360.  We caught our bass on crankbaits in the morning and shaky head worms in the afternoon.

ATHENS, Ala. – The Florida South Division 7 of the American Bass Anglers Open Series, Presented by Caymas Boats, begins its new season on Jan. 22, 2022, on Lake Okeechobee.

The anglers will run out of Roland and Mary Ann Martin's Marina Resort, located at 920 E. Del Monte Avenue in the town of Clewiston, Fla. Anglers can fish anywhere in the massive lake but cannot lock into the Kissimmee River, Caloosahatchee River, or the Port St. Lucie Canal.

Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed.  The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday.  The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament.  The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
