Burroughs Takes The Win Lake Hartwell

ATHENS, Al. – Jason Burroughs of Hodges SC, won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series event held on Lake Hartwell on 6/5/21. Running out of Green Pond Landing in Anderson SC, Burroughs weighed in a five bass limit weighing 16.84 pounds. His limit was anchored by a bass weighing 4.14 pounds. Burroughs took home $1500.00 for the win.

“I started out fishing the herring for about three hours and caught only one weighing 3.82 pounds. I then made the move out and caught the rest of my fish on top water,” said Burroughs.  

Taking second for the boaters, Steve DeBord of Grovetown GA, weighed in a five bass limit weighing 15.98 pounds. His limit was anchored by a bass weighing 3.79 pounds.

“I caught all of my fish today fishing bream beds with jigs and a wacky rig,” said DeBord.

Taking third for the boaters Wesley Sandifer of Chapin SC, weighed in five bass weighing 13.85 pounds. His limit was anchored by a bass weighing 4.85 pounds which was the biggest bass weighed in by a boater. Sandifer took home $840.00 for his catch.  
 
“I caught all of my fish today just running and gunning with a top water bait,” said Sandifer.   
  
In fourth place for the boaters, Kerry Partain of Elverton GA, weighed in five bass weighing 12.34 pounds and rounding out the top five, Robert Waller of Hartwell GA, weighed in five bass weighing 11.98 pounds.


In the co-angler division Ryan Smith of Sugar Hill GA, weighed in three bass weighing 7.93 pounds to take the win. His limit was anchored by a bass weighing 3.17 pounds. Smith took home $500.00 for the win.

“We pulled up on a spot first thing and I caught a limit in about 30 minutes,” said Smith. “I was fishing a top water bait and I culled out about 6-7 times throughout the day.” 

In second place for the co-anglers, Barry Burford of Charlotte NC, weighed in a three bass limit weighing 7.62 pounds. His limit was anchored by a bass weighing 3.73 pounds which was the biggest bass weighed in by a co-angler. 

“I caught four keepers today all on a top water walking bait,” said Burford.

Taking third for the co-anglers, Chris Wilson of Easley SC, weighed in three bass weighing 6.37 pounds.  

“I caught probably 20 fish today all on a top water bait,” said Wilson.

Taking fourth for the co-anglers Damon Phillips of Anderson SC, weighed in three bass weighing 6.18 pounds and rounding out the top five, Barker Plake of Hodges SC, weighed in three bass weighing 4.81 pounds.

Slated for 6/26/21 the next event for the South Carolina division will be on Clark’s Hill running out of the Dorn boating facility in McCormick SC.

Michael Smith Takes the Win on Lake Mitchell

January 8, 2022, Clanton, AL.  Thirty-three anglers launched from Higgins Ferry Park Ramp near Clanton, AL.  Twenty-four of those anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed Michael M. Smith of Andalusia, AL took the victory with 14.71 pounds.  For the victory Smith took home $723 in prize money.

Tom and Missy take the win and the GLine Battery $100 Bounty on Cooper River

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day on the Cooper River with mild temperatures and sunny skies!  We had eight teams come out to compete with every team bringing fish to the scales.  Several teams commented on how clear the water was and how many big bass they watched swimming but couldn’t get to bite.  It seems that the most productive bite was on crank baits and worms.  

Tom and Missy Bancroft took First Place with 5 largemouth bass weighing 8.15 lbs. earning $360.  We caught our bass on crankbaits in the morning and shaky head worms in the afternoon.

Oliva Scores First Opens Series Presented by Caymas Boats


LEESBURG, Fla. – Frank J. Oliva jumped out to an early division lead by scoring the first victory of the year in the Open Series Presented by Caymas Boats season when he won the Florida Central Division opener, held Jan. 15, 2022.

Launching at Venetian Gardens in Leesburg, Fla. to fish the Harris Chain of Lakes, the Orlando, Fla. angler brought in a five-bass tournament limit for 25.17 pounds. Capped by a 7.34-pound lunker, the first tournament champ of the new season came in with a respectable 5.03-pound average.

Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed.  The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday.  The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament.  The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
