John Simonof Wins the ABA District 47 Championship on Lake Maumelle
American Bass Anglers D47 Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour held its 2021 season Divisional Championship on Lake Maumelle. Anglers were greeted to threatening weather conditions, but a few small showers and light winds only showed up. Recent rains brought the lake up a couple of feet scattering the fish. Catching fish wasn’t too difficult, but finding bigger fish was tough. Anglers threw a variety of baits, both shallow and deep, to land their catch.
John Simonof threw a variety of baits on Temple Fork Outfitter rods and Hi-Seas lines to bring ten fish to the scales, for a total weight of 16.13 lbs, which was good enough for first place.
Don Armbrust sacked up ten fish for a total weight of 13.50 lbs on an a-rig to finish in second place.
Don Armbrust caught the big bass of day 1 at 2.69 lbs.
John Simonof caught the big bass of day 2 at 2.78 pbs.
This was the last tournament of the 2021 season. The next tournament in this division will be for the 2022 season and will start in late 2021.
I’d like to thank our local sponsors who provide great support throughout the year.
