Bobby Clark wins the D17 2 Day Championship
August 7th and 8th, 2021, 27 anglers launched from Water Street ramp on the Roanoke River out of Plymouth, NC. Day 1 was cloudy and rainy and day 2 was hot and humid. After 2 days of fishing Bobby Clark from MacClesfield, NC took the victory with 2 - 5 fish limits that weighed 36.38 lbs. For the win Bobby took home $1320 in prize money. Bobby Clark also had big fish for day 2 of the Championship that weighed 5.41 lbs and took home the day 2 Big Fish pot. Congratulation Bobby.
Second amongst the competitors was John (Walt) Bowen from Henderson, NC with 2 - 5 fish limits that locked in the scales at 35.98 lbs. For his efforts Walt took home $808 in prize money.
Third Place went to Chase Theis from Hubert, NC with 2 – 5 fish limits that weighed 32.42 lbs. Chase took home $288 in prize money. Chase also accumulated the most points within Division 17 and earned the title of ANGLER OF THE YEAR – Congratulation Chase.
Fourth place was Matthew Oakley from Farmville, NC. Matthew weighed in 2 – 5 fish limits that weighed 31.04 lbs. For his efforts Matthew took home $230 in prize money.
The Day 1 Big Fish and Biggest Bass of the tournament was caught by Jeffrey Davis. His fish locked in the scales at whopping 9.59 lbs earning him the day 1 big bass pot.

The next tournament in the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour, NC Central, Division 17 will be an early bird tournament for the 2022 season on Saturday 11 September, 2021 launching from Tranter’s Creek on the Tar River in Washington, NC.

These anglers accrue valuable points toward the Divisional Angler of the Year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day Bass Pro AFT National Championship tournament at Kerr Reservoir Virginia in October.

Joseph Yocum fished with Loren Graves and won Airman 1st place and Big Bass. He had 11.38 lbs anchored with the big one that went 4.5 lbs. Chad & Toni Prough Win Bass Pro Shops Couples Series National Championship Event on Lake Eufaula
ATHENS, Ala. –The team of Chad and Toni Prough of Chipley, FL won the Bass Pro Shops Couples Series National Championship event held on Lake Eufaula on 10/7-8/2021. On day one, the team sacked up a five bass limit weighing 17.43 pounds. On day two, the team caught another five bass limit weighing 11.44 pounds for a total of 28.87 pounds. For the win, the Proughs took home $2,500.00 and an additional $500 for using Garmin units on their boat.
Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament. The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
