Scott Miles Wins Stockton ABA Tournament
The fishing was slow on Stockton Lake for American Bass Anglers Division 126 Saturday July 24, 2021. Only two limits came to the scales. Scott Miles was one of those limits; his catch weighed 11.74 lbs. giving him 1st place and $500. Lucas Fornelli was 2nd with four fish that weighed 10.19 winning him $288. Third place and $94 went to Will Isaac with 9.89 lbs. Mike Dill took Big Bass with 4.97 lb bass; he took $125 cash and a $100 gift card from Heritage Tractor. Second Big Bass and $45 went to Ethan Jahay with 3.50 lb bass.
Besides cash, anglers took home $350 worth of gift cards donated by several local sponsors including Albers Marine of Arma, KS, Buds Baits of Carthage and Joplin, Crawford County C & V Pittsburg, KS, Pete’s Convenience Store in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma, Double M Reel Service of Girard, The Bait Shop of Stockton, Cabins On The Lake, Chop Shop of Lamar, Enriques Mexican Grill, Heritage Tractor, JAG’s Snacks, Kens Kafe of Arcola, Stockton Simple Simon’s Pizza, Squeeze Inn, Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce, Stockton Lake Outfitters of Greenfield, Stockton State Park, Woods Supermarket, and Woody’s Fast Stop.
The next Stockton Lake tournament will be August 28, 2021. The Stockton Lake 2-day Championship will be September 25-26, 2021. Anglers qualify for the Championship by fishing at least four 1-day tournaments; these 1-day tournaments can be in any ABA Division (there are several in the area). The Championship tournament will determine a Stockton Lake “Angler of the Year,” a Stockton Lake “Champion”, a Stockton Lake “Big Bass of the Year,” and a Stockton Lake “Big Stringer of the Year.” AOY will receive a Denali Rod and Lews Reel plus entry into the ABA National Championship ($170 value); D126 Champion will also receive a rod/reel and be guaranteed boat #1 position in each 2022 D126 tournament. Big Bass of the Year will take home a John Deere pressure washer worth $500-$600 donated by Heritage Tractor. Big Stringer of the Year takes $500 cash donated by JAG’s Snacks. Local sponsor receipts are being collected through-out the season; one of those receipts will be drawn at the Championship and the angler who brought it will take home $100.
The ABA National Championship will be held on Kerr Lake, Virginia October 20-23, 2021.
American Bass Anglers is a National Trail with almost 40 Divisions across the country. It is run in draw format. Boaters and non-boaters from age 14 are encouraged to compete. These anglers accrue valuable points toward the Divisional Angler of the Year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day Bass Pro AFT National Championship tournament at Kerr Lake, Virginia in October.

Joseph Yocum fished with Loren Graves and won Airman 1st place and Big Bass. He had 11.38 lbs anchored with the big one that went 4.5 lbs. John Vanderpool guided Matthew LeBrun to 2nd place with 8.13 lbs; 3rd place went to Jacob Dalzell who fished with Kirk Kelly and had 6.88 lbs. Pictures are posted at www.centralmidwestbass.com.
Chad & Toni Prough Win Bass Pro Shops Couples Series National Championship Event on Lake Eufaula
ATHENS, Ala. –The team of Chad and Toni Prough of Chipley, FL won the Bass Pro Shops Couples Series National Championship event held on Lake Eufaula on 10/7-8/2021. On day one, the team sacked up a five bass limit weighing 17.43 pounds. On day two, the team caught another five bass limit weighing 11.44 pounds for a total of 28.87 pounds. For the win, the Proughs took home $2,500.00 and an additional $500 for using Garmin units on their boat.
Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament. The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
