Scott Miles Wins Stockton ABA Tournament

The fishing was slow on Stockton Lake for American Bass Anglers Division 126 Saturday July 24, 2021. Only two limits came to the scales. Scott Miles was one of those limits; his catch weighed 11.74 lbs. giving him 1st place and $500. Lucas Fornelli was 2nd with four fish that weighed 10.19 winning him $288. Third place and $94 went to Will Isaac with 9.89 lbs. Mike Dill took Big Bass with 4.97 lb bass; he took $125 cash and a $100 gift card from Heritage Tractor. Second Big Bass and $45 went to Ethan Jahay with 3.50 lb bass.

Besides cash, anglers took home $350 worth of gift cards donated by several local sponsors including Albers Marine of Arma, KS,  Buds Baits of Carthage and Joplin, Crawford County C & V Pittsburg, KS, Pete’s Convenience Store in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma, Double M Reel Service of Girard, The Bait Shop of Stockton, Cabins On The Lake, Chop Shop of Lamar, Enriques Mexican Grill, Heritage Tractor, JAG’s Snacks, Kens Kafe of Arcola, Stockton Simple Simon’s Pizza, Squeeze Inn, Stockton Area Chamber of Commerce, Stockton Lake Outfitters of Greenfield, Stockton State Park, Woods Supermarket, and Woody’s Fast Stop.

The next Stockton Lake tournament will be August 28, 2021. The Stockton Lake 2-day Championship will be September 25-26, 2021. Anglers qualify for the Championship by fishing at least four 1-day tournaments; these 1-day tournaments can be in any ABA Division (there are several in the area). The Championship tournament will determine a Stockton Lake “Angler of the Year,” a Stockton Lake “Champion”, a Stockton Lake “Big Bass of the Year,” and a Stockton Lake “Big Stringer of the Year.” AOY will receive a Denali Rod and Lews Reel plus entry into the ABA National Championship ($170 value); D126 Champion will also receive a rod/reel and be guaranteed boat #1 position in each 2022 D126 tournament. Big Bass of the Year will take home a John Deere pressure washer worth $500-$600 donated by Heritage Tractor. Big Stringer of the Year takes $500 cash donated by JAG’s Snacks. Local sponsor receipts are being collected through-out the season; one of those receipts will be drawn at the Championship and the angler who brought it will take home $100.

The ABA National Championship will be held on Kerr Lake, Virginia October 20-23, 2021.
