BRIAN GARNER Wins D72 on OCONEE
Brian Garner of Locust Grove, GA brought the winning sack totaling 15.72 pounds to the scale at the D72 Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour held May 22, 2021 on Lake Oconee. Brian took home $745 cash and the first place trophy for his 5 bass limit. He anchored his sack with a 5.03 pounder to take home additional cash of $360 for the optional big bass pot, and the Big Bass trophy. Brian said he was fishing mid lake pockets and docks, using a frog and shaky head.
There were 36 anglers competing on this very hot day for the top six payouts totaling $1,764. All fish brought to the scale were released alive to grow bigger and hopefully be caught again!

Director Benny Howell gave two $50 bills as draw prizes to the anglers present after the awards of cash and trophies. The lucky winners were Kevin Lewis and Martin Rutledge. A $50 Sugar Creek Marina gift card was won by Randy Jackson.
Our next tournament in D72 will be the 2-day event, held June 5 on Lake Sinclair and June 6 on Lake Oconee. You must have fished at least 4 tournaments in any AFT division in order to qualify. If you need information, please contact Director Benny Howell at 770-365-4795.

Mark Watkins wins D6 Two Day and AOY
ATHENS, Al. – Mark Watkins won the two day shortened Bass Pro American Fishing Tour presented by American Bass Anglers, Connecticut Division 6 tournament, held on Lake Lillinonah. Mark only caught three largemouth for 11.13 pounds, but they were the right ones. With that win Mark also became the Division 6 Angler of the Year for the second year in a row. For the victory he took home $674.00 in cash.
Whitehead Takes Win at Weiss Lake

Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament.
