Mike Butcher Wins On Big Hill
The wind was blowing and the bass were biting; Big Hill Lake turned on! All anglers in the American Bass Anglers tournament held May 8, 2021 on Big Hill Lake brought fish to the scales. Mike Burcher brought in the heaviest bag, weighing 19.28 lbs. He had 2nd Bid Bass, a 5.11 lb largemouth. Second place and Big Bass went to Mark Moody who weighed in 15.34 lbs which included a 7.09 lunker. Bryan Fahler was close and took 3rd place with 15.21 lbs.
Most of the fish were found on the lower part of the lake using soft plastic, spinnerbaits and crankbaits. The wind blew 20-30 mph; the temperature was mild and the sky was sunny
A Big Hill ABA Champion and a Big Hill Angler of the Year will be determined at the end of the season using a point system. The race for these two honors and the prizes that come with them is very tight right now and the points change after each tournament. Bryan Fahler and Mack Hale are leading the points race and are separated by one point. Brett Rinehart and Terry Kneupple are only a few points behind. D58 holds tournaments about every month on Big Hill Lake. The next tournament is scheduled for June 5, 2021 launching from the Timberhill Ramp. Anglers compete for cash, prizes and points which qualify them to fish the D58 2-day Championship scheduled for October 9-10, 2021. The ABA National Championship will be help on Kerr Lake, Virginia October 20-23, 2021..

Daylight Donuts of Parsons donated donuts for the anglers at registration.
American Bass Anglers is a National Trail with almost 40 Divisions across the country. It is run in draw format. Boaters and non-boaters from age 14 are encouraged to compete. These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. Each division's points champion will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. The top 500 anglers from the various divisions will also earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments are designed for the weekend angler. All anglers fish for both money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship. The top 500 anglers in the US will be invited to the American Fishing Tour National Championship this fall on Kerr Lake in Virginia.

Heintz Takes the Win on Grand Lake
Twelve anglers launched from the Tera Miranda ramp on Monkey Island near Grove, OK. Seven of those anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed Curtis Heintz from Olathe, KS, took the victory with a total weight of 17.64 lbs including a 5.95 lb. black bass for Big Bass honors. He accredited his win to just fishing deep. For the win, Heintz took home over $500 in prize money.

ATHENS, Ala. –Bradley Durden won the 2021 Bass Pro Shops Open Series Georgia Division tournament, held June 5th on Oconee.
Running out of Sugar Creek Marina in Buckhead, GA the Atlanta, GA angler caught a limit weighing 14.41 pounds including a big bass that weighed 5.44-pounds.
Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament. The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
