Carl Enos wins the ABA NC Central Division 17 Tournament on Lake Gaston
Thanks to all the anglers that came out and fished the ABA Division 17 tournament on Lake Gaston this past weekend. It started off cold and then rained in the afternoon but at least it warmed up to the 60’s in the afternoon. April 24, 2021, 20 anglers, 19 boaters and 1 non-boater, launched from the Summit Ramp on Lake Gaston out of Summit, NC. Fifteen of those anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed Carl Enos from South Hill, VA took the victory with 16.10 lbs. For the win Carl took home $543 in prize money. Carl said he caught his fish about midway up the lake on buzz-baits and sinkos. Carl also had BIG FISH of the tournament with a very nice 5.23 lb kicker and took home the big fish pot. Congratulations Carl!
Second place was Mike Colbert from Newpot, NC. Mike had a 5 fish limit that locked in the scales at 12.34 lbs. Mike caught his fish on soft plastics and went about midway up the lake. For his efforts he took home $329 in prize money.
Third place in the tournament went to Mike Roberson from Battleboro, NC with a 5 fish limit weighing 10.54 lbs and received a payout of $108.

Mike Butcher Wins On Big Hill

Danny and Virginia Christ win on Lake Mitchell
ATHENS, Al. – Danny and Virginia Christ won the American Couples Series, operated by American Bass Anglers, Central Alabama Division 1 tournament, held April 18, 2021, on Lake Mitchell. Running out of Higgins Ferry boat ramp out of Clanton, AL, they caught 5 bass weighing 15.73 pounds. For the victory, they earned a check for $788.00. Virginia won the Woman’s Big Fish with a 4.87-pound kicker. They caught their fish in shallow water on a worm.
Hawkins Wins $2600 on Harris Chain
ATHENS, Ala. –Calan Hawkins won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series Florida Central tournament, held May 1st on the Harris Chain of Lakes. Running out of Venetian Gardens – Ski Beach in Leesburg, FL the Fruitland Park, FL angler caught five bass weighing 24.56 pounds including a 7.61-pound kicker. For the Boater Division victory, Hawkins took home a check for $2600 for his win.
Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament. The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
