Doug Sims Wins ABA At Big Hill
With air temps in mid 40’s and water temps low to mid 50-s, nineteen anglers launched out of Mound Valley Ramp on Big Hill Lake April 3, 2021 at 7:30 a.m. There was a light breeze which would later change to 20 mph winds causing white caps on the main lake. Air temps rose to low 70’s.
The fish were biting! Eleven anglers brought a 5-fish limit to the scales. The biggest weight belonged to Doug Sims with a total weight of 14.80. Second place went to Brett Rinehart who weighed in 13.47-lbs including Big Bass of the day, a 5.71-lb largemouth. Bryan Fahler was 3rd with a 12.78-lb bag. Garen Hunt, weighed in a 11.33-lb limit with a 5.09 kicker and took 2nd Big Bass. Anglers reported catching their fish on crankbaits, jerkbaits, and jigs, some in the main lake area and some in the upper part of the lake. D58 holds tournaments about every month on Big Hill Lake. The next tournament is scheduled for May 8, 2021 launching from the Timberhill Ramp. Anglers compete for cash, prizes and points which will qualify them to fish the D58 2-day Championship scheduled for October 9-10, 2021. The ABA National Championship will be help on Kerr Lake, Virginia October 20-23, 2021.

Daylight Donuts of Parsons donated donuts for the anglers at registration.
American Bass Anglers is a National Trail with almost 40 Divisions across the country. It is run in draw format. Boaters and non-boaters from age 14 are encouraged to compete. These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. Each division's points champion will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. The top 500 anglers from the various divisions will also earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments are designed for the weekend angler. All anglers fish for both money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship. The top 500 anglers in the US will be invited to the American Fishing Tour National Championship this fall on Kerr Lake in Virginia.

Mark Watkins wins D6 Two Day and AOY
ATHENS, Al. – Mark Watkins won the two day shortened Bass Pro American Fishing Tour presented by American Bass Anglers, Connecticut Division 6 tournament, held on Lake Lillinonah. Mark only caught three largemouth for 11.13 pounds, but they were the right ones. With that win Mark also became the Division 6 Angler of the Year for the second year in a row. For the victory he took home $674.00 in cash.
Whitehead Takes Win at Weiss Lake

Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament.
