Donny Soto Smokes the Field
Donny Soto of Bryon, Georgia smoked the field to take the win in the American Fishing Tour Division 99 tournament presented by American Bass Anglers. Running out of Highland Marina near LaGrange, Georgia 22 anglers went out with hopes of a victory, but when the scales closed it was Donny Soto who secured the win. Donny brought back a 5-fish limit that locked in the scales at 17.04lbs anchored by a 4.22lb kicker that also took big fish. For the victory, Donny took home a check for $559.
Donny reported using a shad colored crankbait fishing lay downs out of his Mercury powered Triton.
Second place was claimed by Blake Tomlin with 14.15lbs scoring him $331.
Kenny Carol took third with 5 fish and a total weight of 11.09lbs and took home $108 in prize money.

These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, AFT National Championship tournament.
The American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All anglers fish for both money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the US are invited to the American Fishing Tour National Championship for this fall on Kerr Lake in Virginia.

Wright Wins on Kerr Lake
4/10/21 – Boydton, VA. Fifty anglers got together to target largemouth bass on Kerr Lake in a qualifying event for the American Fishing Tour Virginia division. On what was a picture-perfect day weather-wise, 36 of those anglers caught a limit of bass.

Big Bass at Clark’s Hill for North GA Couples
Beautiful and warm early spring weather met the North GA Couples at Clark’s Hill as we launched from the Mistletoe State Park Ramp on March 13, 2021. Lots of healthy fish were caught and brought to the scale while we all enjoyed a good time. It was wonderful seeing some people who haven’t been able to fish with us in a while.
Brad Benfield Takes the Win on Lake Russell
ATHENS, Al. – Brad Benfield of Demorest GA, won the South Carolina Division of the American Bass Anglers Open Series held on Lake Russell on April 4th. Launching out of the Hwy 72 park in Elberton GA, Benfield weighed in a five bass limit weighing 14.46lbs. “I was fishing a wacky rig bait on throwing at different types of structure in the 15-foot depth,” said Benfield.
Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament. The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
