Georgia Division 8 is off to Lake Seminole

ATHENS, Al. – The Georgia Division of the 2021 Bass Pro Shops Open Series operated by American Bass Anglers will hold the second seasonal event on March 13, 2021 on Lake Seminole in Donalsonville, GA.

This is the first event on Lake Seminole in two years and the fishing should be good, with weather at start time in the mid-50s and increasing to the low 80s during the day.  Anglers will be looking at a payout 1st Place of $5000 for 60 boats and to acquire points to qualify for the Ray Scott Championship. 

Anglers are asked to wear masks or face coverings during registration and weigh-in and adhere to social distancing guidelines.

On-site check in will be Friday March 12th from 4:30 to 6:30pm at Reynolds Landing at the ABA weigh-in trailer, pairings will be texted shortly after close of check-in.  If you have a valid freedom pass you may call the tournament director Billy Benedetti and check-in by phone prior to 4pm.  The mandatory rules and safety briefing will be held Saturday morning with all boats in the water just prior to sendoff.

Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed.  The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday.  The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament.  The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
