Central FL to Compete on Lake Toho
ATHENS, Ala. – The Florida Central Division of the Bass Pro Shops Open Series will hold the third event 2021 qualifier on Lake Toho in Kissimmee, FL, Saturday, February 27, 2021.
Lake Toho is fishing well and really good bags of fish are coming in. Earlier this month 25lb bags were becoming a lot more common. Last season Christian Greico of Tampa, FL won this event with 22.62 pounds and pocketed $5,400 fishing Kissimmee flipping mats and pads.
This January Jim Kuca won the first Open Series event of the year with 19.24 pounds. Kuca reported catching fish all day long flipping a burner craw. Danial Blanchard took second with 19.02 pounds and like Kuca caught his fish flipping.
(Learning from the past) Buddy Gross of Chickamauga, Georgia won a tour event on Toho this same time of year in 2019 with a four-day total of 85-12pounds. Gross fished the southern end of the main lake fishing clumps of grass adjacent to ditches. Gross used two basic lures, a swimbait and a black and blue swim jig.
The event will launch Saturday out of Lakefront Park located in Kissimmee, FL.
