Georgia Heads to Lake Sinclair
Athens, AL. September 8, 2020. Georgia anglers will compete on Lake Sinclair Saturday, 9/12/2020, for Georgia’s final Bass Pro Shops Open Series qualifier of the 2020 season. The tournament will launch out of Dennis Station, located in Eatonton, Georgia.
Lake Sinclair, like a lot of lakes in the US, was created to generate power. Sinclair was created in 1953 by Georgia Power and provides just over 15,300 acres of water. The lake was named for Benjamin W. Sinclair, who served the Georgia Power Company for many years as manager of production.
Usually, the tour holds the Sinclair event in the spring, it was scheduled for 4/25/2020. The event had to be rescheduled due to the pandemic.
Last year in April, John Duvall of Madison, GA, won the event with just over 24 pounds. Of course, he was pre-spawn fish in that tournament. The late summer fishing patterns will be quiet different for this event.
The point race for the Georgia division is fairly tight with Grant Kelly of Milledgeville, Ga currently holding in first place.
