2020 Championship Old Hickory Lake
July 22, 2020, Athens, AL. The Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour 2020 Championship online registration will begin on July 27, 2020, at 8 am. This year’s championship will be on Old Hickory Lake in Gallatin, Tennessee Launching out of Sanders Ferry Park in Hendersonville, October 21, 22, and 23 with Sumner County Tourism hosting.
The event is seven days long, with Offical Practice starting on Saturday, October 17, and continuing Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. After Practice, there are three days of competition beginning Wednesday, October 21, and concluding on Friday. Weigh-ins at Sanders Ferry Park will be held at 3 pm on Wednesday and Thursday and beginning at 2 pm on Friday, the final day.
The event will be slightly different this year due to social distancing guidelines preventing the typical gatherings held at these events in the 44-year history of this organization. Special precautions and social distancing guidelines will be used at all events.
The entry fee for the event is $170, and there are a couple of optional payout funds available. Big bass is $10 per day, and the big bass each day will win a 100% payout of the big bass pot. Anglers can create a four-man team and enter the team competition where teams combined weights are to determine the top team at the event. Top 15 percent of the the teams are awarded cash payout from this pool.
The 2020 Bass Pro Shops Champion will receive a Triton/Mercury Boat package valued at over $60,000. The angler of the year will also a Triton/Mercury Boat package valued at over $60,000. An angler cannot win more than one boat at this event, so if the AOY and the Champion are the same person second place will win the Triton/Mercury Boat package, and first place would receive second place payout.
A cash payout will go through 15% of the field as well as the individual awards of 2020 Hall of Fame, Service Team Awards, and Draw Prizes, which will be given away each day.
Off-limits for this event begin October 4th at sunset and will continue through Saturday, October 17 at safe daylight. During this off-limits period, Practice, and competition days, other than using publicly available information (e.g., newspaper, periodical, and Internet reports) competitors cannot solicit, receive or gather any information via phone, electronic devices or any other means about locating or catching fish on tournament waters.
Old Hickory Lake is an impoundment on the Cumberland River. The lake is 97.3 miles long, which provides a lot of space for anglers to find feeding bass. There are 41 boat access ramps along the river and plenty of restaurants, hotels, and campgrounds in the area.
Old Hickory is in the shadow of Nashville, where you will find a lot to see and do, including the title sponsor of the tour, which has a Bass Pro Shops located at 323 Opry Mills Dr, Nashville, TN 37214. Located just 18 miles from the launch site Bass Pro Shops is an excellent experience for you and your family. Of course, Bass Pro Shops have the latest tackle need to win this event.

Mitchell Tournament Moved to 10/11
Out of an over abundance of caution the Tournament scheduled for 10/10/2020 on Lake Mitchell has been moved to 10/11/2020. The safety of our anglers is out number one priorty. North GA Couples kicks off 2021 season with double header on Lake Lanier.
October 3 brought post frontal winds and bluebird skies, starting the day off with waning harvest moon. With some fall transition it made for some challenging fishing but beautiful weather to be on the lake. With 8 teams fishing there was only one limit brought to the scales but all others had at least one keeper to weigh, with exception of one team who had to leave lake early due to boat problems.

Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament.
