Penney and Lowe Take Home $9000 on Weiss
ATHENS, Ala. – The 2020 Bass Pro Shops Alabama Team Tour’s 3rd event was held on Weiss Lake at Little River Marina with 90 teams fishing. Finishing in 1st place with 5 fish weighing 19.38 lbs. was Hunter Penney and Charles Lowe winning a $9,000. They caught the winning string fishing topwater, swim jigs in the grass and flipping plastics in treetops.
Finishing in 2nd was the team of Jared Parmer and Jenny Runions with 5 fish weighing 18.69 lbs. and winning $1,650 and $1,000 in the side pot. They caught their fish flipping grass with jigs and creature baits.
Finishing in 3rd place was the team of Randy Tolbert Jr. and Josh Butler with 5 fish for 17.49 lbs. and winning $1150 and $650 in the side pot. They caught their fish using a buzzbait and frog in the grass, and a spinnerbait and 1/2oz jig black/blue around docks.
Placing 4th was the team of Sam Long and Jason Atkins fishing out of the Fighting the War against Substance Abuse wrapped boat with 5 fish weighing 16.66 lbs. and taking home $1000 and $375 in the side pot. They caught their limit fishing deep with swimbaits and jigs.
Finishing 5th was the team of Corey Cupps and Jerry Cupps with 5 fish weighing 16.45 lbs. and winning $900.
The big bass was caught by the team of Terry Tucker and Jeff Cannon weighing 6.20 lbs. and winning $810. They caught the fish swimming a jig in grass.
The next stop in the Alabama Team division is July 19 on Pickwick Lake at McFarland Park.

Troy Woodham Takes the win on Lake Mitchell
October 16, 2021, Clanton, AL. Thirty anglers launched from Higgins Ferry Park near Clanton, AL. Thirteen of those anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed Troy Woodham from Prattville, AL took the victory with 14.02 pounds. For the win Woodham took home $680 in prize money. His bag was anchored by a 6.51 pound Big Bass earning him another $150.
Ben & Ashley Sutton Take the Win on Clark’s Hill
The first event of the 2022 South Carolina ABA Couples season was held on Clark’s Hill out of Hickory Knobb State Park. It was a beautiful day to be on the water. Ben & Ashley Sutton came out on top of the field of 22 teams with 5 bass weighing 13.01 lbs. Ben & Ashley were awarded $825 for their first-place finish.
Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament. The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
