North GA Couples With a Tough Double Header
Back to back tournaments on May 16 & 17 proved challenging but fun for North GA Couples. Seven couples enjoyed a beautiful day on Lake Harding. Weather was perfect for being out on the lake, as evidenced by the abundance of pontoons and jet skis competing for water. Billy and Jerri Beam managed to pull out the most weight with a bag weighing 9.13. Jerri won the Ladies Big Bass pot with a 2.37 spotted bass. Second place went to Lane Wright and Deb Barker with a total of 7.43. Lane had Men’s Big Bass with a nice 3.24 spot.
Moving to West Point on Sunday brought in eight couples and another day where catching a big fish was challenging. First place winners were Robert and Jennifer Thomas with a total weight of 8.17. Jennifer had Ladies Big Bass weighing 2.05. Second place, with a weight of 7.63, went to Sean and Kathy Capes. Steve Dobbs won the Men’s Big Bass pot with one weighing 2.84.
We had several new couples join us, including family members from Tennessee. We want to shout out a huge thank you to everyone who fished these tournaments and can’t wait to see you at our next ones, scheduled for June 13 & 14 on Lake Hartwell. We are currently scheduled to launch from Tugaloo State Park, but we will confirm that and notify everyone if we need to make any changes.
Any updates will be posted on the ABA website and in the Facebook group page “ABA North GA Couples Division 5.”

North GA Couples kicks off 2021 season with double header on Lake Lanier.
October 3 brought post frontal winds and bluebird skies, starting the day off with waning harvest moon. With some fall transition it made for some challenging fishing but beautiful weather to be on the lake. With 8 teams fishing there was only one limit brought to the scales but all others had at least one keeper to weigh, with exception of one team who had to leave lake early due to boat problems.

Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament. The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
