Don Armbrust Takes the win on Lake Maumelle

The Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour D47 presented by American Bass Anglers held its latest tournament of the 2020 season on 18 Apr 2020 on Lake Maumelle launching from West Rock Landing. Don Armbrust topped the field with five fish for a total weight of 16.94 lbs.  Don threw a crankbait and umbrella rig to fill his livewell.

Josh Ray sacked up five fish weighing 14.87 lbs.  Josh fished crankbaits and jigs to catch his fish.

Rounding out the top three was Eric Turner who caught five fish for a total weight of 8.29 lbs throwing a Slider Ringmaster shakeyhead on a Dobyns rod & Lew’s reel, spooled up with 10# Vicious Pro elite fluorocarbon line.

Don Armbrust caught the big bass of the day at 4.57 lbs.

These anglers earn valuable points toward the divisional Angler of the Year (AOY) title.
 
The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers (ABA) Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour (BPSFT) Angler of The Year (AOY) Final Round at the BPSFT National Championship. 

In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, BPSFT National Championship tournament.

The Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. 
 
All anglers fish for both money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the U.S. are invited to the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour (BPSFT) National Championship.

The first event of the 2022 South Carolina ABA Couples season was held on Clark’s Hill out of Hickory Knobb State Park.  It was a beautiful day to be on the water. Ben & Ashley Sutton came out on top of the field of 22 teams with 5 bass weighing 13.01 lbs.  Ben & Ashley were awarded $825 for their first-place finish.

Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed.  The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday.  The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament.  The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
