Patterson and Douglas Take Home a new Triton on Guntersville
ATHENS, Al. – The 2020 Bass Pro Shops Alabama Team Tournament kicked off on Guntersville Lake at Goose Pond Landing with 100 teams. Finishing in 1st place with 5 fish weighing 24.20 lbs. was the team of Johnny Patterson and Bryan Douglas winning a 2020 Triton TX 17 with a Mercury 60 HP 4 stroke outboard valued at $ 20,000 and $1,000 in the option pot. They caught their winning stringer fishing crankbaits, rattletraps and jigs and even broke out a spinning rod to complete their limit.
Taking 2nd place was the team of Kent Keys and Davey Campbell with 5 fish for 22.27 lbs. and winning $3,000. They caught their fish using 6” and 7” swimbaits on creek ledges and bends and deep grass lines.
Finishing in 3rd place was the team of Harl Romine and Harl Romine Jr. with 5 fish string for 21.70 lbs. and winning $2000 and $650 in the option pot. They caught their fish using rattletraps in 6’ of water in the mid-lake area.
Placing a close 4th was the team of Tony Butts and Ricky Butts with 5 fish weighing 21.45 lbs. and taking home $1,400. They caught their fish on crankbaits and rattletraps in 6’to 8’.
Finishing 5th was the team of Jimmy Mason and Lance Walker with 5 fish weighing 19.17 lbs. and winning $1,150 and $375 in the option pot. They caught their fish using ½ oz. Booyah lipless 1 knocker in shallow eelgrass.
The big bass was caught by the team of Johnny Patterson and Bryan Douglas weighing 6.89 lbs. and winning $950. They caught the fish on a DT6 crankbait.
The next stop in the Alabama division is May 3rd on Neely Henry at Coosa Landing.

Troy Woodham Takes the win on Lake Mitchell
October 16, 2021, Clanton, AL. Thirty anglers launched from Higgins Ferry Park near Clanton, AL. Thirteen of those anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed Troy Woodham from Prattville, AL took the victory with 14.02 pounds. For the win Woodham took home $680 in prize money. His bag was anchored by a 6.51 pound Big Bass earning him another $150.
Ben & Ashley Sutton Take the Win on Clark’s Hill
The first event of the 2022 South Carolina ABA Couples season was held on Clark’s Hill out of Hickory Knobb State Park. It was a beautiful day to be on the water. Ben & Ashley Sutton came out on top of the field of 22 teams with 5 bass weighing 13.01 lbs. Ben & Ashley were awarded $825 for their first-place finish.
Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament. The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
