Ingram Wins $2600 in Alabama South Season Opener on Lake Eufaula
ATHENS, Al. –Ryan Ingram of Phenix City, AL won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series Alabama South Division tournament, held February 8th on Lake Eufaula. Running out of Lakepoint Resort State Park in Eufaula, AL Ryan caught five bass weighing 15.99 pounds. For the Boater Division victory, Ingram took home a check for $2600 for his win.
“I caught me a few of my fish shallow on a spinnerbait then the rest came on a Carolina-rig on a road-bed. It was cold, windy, muddy, and tough today.” Ingram said.
In second for the boaters, Ethan Greene of Eufaula, AL landed a five-bass tournament limit going 15.89 pounds.
“I caught my fish cranking in 15ft-20ft of water. It was real slow fishing today.” Greene said.
Tony Adams of Tifton, GA took third for the boaters with five bass going 15.85 pounds.
“I caught my fish today on a speed worm on the south end of the lake.” Adams said.
The big bass award for the boaters went to Chandler Teems of Leeds, AL for a big bass that weighed 6.81 pounds
“It was really tough today. I only had three bites all day. I caught that big bass on a Zoom Bait Horny Toad shallow.” Teems said.
Finishing fourth, Rodger Beaver Jr of Dawson, GA landed a five-bass limit for 14.81 pounds. Rick Hoefle of Ozark, AL rounded out the top five boaters with three bass at 14.20 pounds.
In the Co-Angler Division, Kenny Moore of Salem, AL won with three bass going 9.13 pounds. He pocketed a check for $1000 for his win.
“I caught my fish today dragging a worm behind the boat. I just kept casting and picked up a few here and there. I enjoyed fishing with Ryan (Ingram).” Moore said.
Taking second for the co-anglers, John Allen of Adel, GA brought in a two bass weighing 8.73 pounds including a big bass that weighed 6.60 pounds.
“I caught my big fish on a chatterbait and my little fish came on a Tokyo-rig. I only had two bites today.” Allen said.
Joey Mims of Headland, AL placed third among the co-anglers with two bass going 6.30 pounds.
“I struggled today. I didn’t catch my first fish until noon. I caught three fish today but one was short so I weighed in two fish. I caught my fish on soft plastics fishing deep. “ Mims said.
In fourth place among the co-anglers, Timmy Smith of Jemison, AL brought in three bass for 6.07 pounds. Jeff Grubbs of Palmetto, GA finished in fifth place with two bass for 5.37 pounds.
Slated for March 21st, 2020 the next tournament will be held on Lake Jordan out of Bonners Landing in Wetumpka, AL. At the end of the season, the best anglers from across the nation advance the 2021 Ray Scott Championship to be held at Lake Chickamauga in April, 2021.

Larry Franklin takes win on Kentucky Lake
On March 28, 2020, Larry Franklin of Waverly, TN won the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour Division 40 tournament presented by American Bass Anglers. Larry brought in one of only two 5 fish limits for the tournament. His five fish tipped the scales at 18.60 lbs. His weight was anchored by a big kicker that weighed 6.95 lbs. which gave him the big fish of the tournament. For the victory Larry took home $451 for first place and $150 for big fish.
Lake Russell Served up 9 Limits for North GA Couples
Saturday, March 21, was a beautiful spring day with bluebird skies and a slight breeze—a day that brightened the spirits of some anglers on Lake Russell, going out of Beaverdam Marina. Every team brought in a limit of fish and scale weights were very close. First place was Ronald and Earline McBride with 11.93-lbs.
Duane Wardlaw Takes the win on Percy Priest
ATHENS, Ala. – The 2020 Bass Pro Shops Central Tennessee Open Series Tournament kicked off on Percy Priest Lake at Fate Sanders Ramp with 47 boaters and 28 co-anglers. Finishing in 1st place Boater with 5 fish weighing 20.44 lbs. was Duane Wardlaw winning $2,400. He caught his fish using an Alabama Rig. Duane also landed the biggest bass for the boaters with a nice 8.35-lb beauty, earning him an extra $460.
Patterson and Douglas Take Home a new Triton on Guntersville
ATHENS, Al. – The 2020 Bass Pro Shops Alabama Team Tournament kicked off on Guntersville Lake at Goose Pond Landing with 100 teams. Finishing in 1st place with 5 fish weighing 24.20 lbs. was the team of Johnny Patterson and Bryan Douglas winning a 2020 Triton TX 17 with a Mercury 60 HP 4 stroke outboard valued at $ 20,000 and $1,000 in the option pot. They caught their winning stringer fishing crankbaits, rattletraps and jigs and even broke out a spinning rod to complete their limit.
