Scott Tassi Takes the win on Stockton
American Bass Anglers Division 126 held their 2020 season opener on Stockton Lake September 21, 2019. Lots and lots of fish were weighed in. Nineteen of the 26 participants weighed in a 5-fish limit. First place went to Kansas angler, Scott Tassi with 16.38-lbs.
Robert Cowan took second with 14.13-lbs.
Third was claimed Brent Greek with 14.04-lbs.
Big Bass went to Chad Allison with a bass weighing 4.08-lbs.
Anglers reported catching fish using topwater, jigs and spinnerbaits. Nineteen of the 26 participants weighed in a 5-fish limit. The sky was overcast most of the day with 15 mph wind and a few light showers. The temperature stayed near 80 most of the day; the water temperature was about the same.

American Bass Anglers is a National Draw Trail with almost 40 Divisions across the country. There are several in our area. D126 is one Division in the Bass Pro Shop Fishing Tour. There are 40 Divisions across the country. The circuit uses a draw format meaning anglers from age 14 can compete as boater or non-boater. These anglers accrue valuable points toward the Divisional Angler of the Year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day Bass Pro AFT National Championship tournament at Lake Eufaula, Alabama in October.

Donald Griffith Takes the Win on the Tensaw River
May 31, 2020, Mobile, AL. Donald Griffith of Robertsdale, Alabama won the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour Division 41 Two Day tournament presented by American Bass Anglers on the Tensaw River. Running out of Live Oak Landing, Griffith brought back a two day total that locked in the scales at 20.87 pounds. For the victory Griffith took home $802.
Bobby and Karen Holman win on Lake Mitchell
Bobby and Karen Holman won the Bass Pro Shops Couples Series, operated by American Bass Anglers, Central Alabama Division 1 tournament, held May 16, 2020, on Lake Mitchell. Running out of Higgins Ferry boat ramp out of Clanton, AL, they caught 5 bass weighing 14.85 pounds. For the victory, they earned a check for $500.00. Bobby won the Man’s Big Fish with a 4.39-pound kicker. They caught their fish early in the morning in shallow water.
Weiss Lake Double Header
June 1, 2020, Athens, AL. June 6 and 7 ABA will host a doubleheader weekend on Weiss Lake in Centre AL. On Saturday, the third tournament for the Bass Pro Shops Open Series North Alabama Division will be held. Sunday, the Bass Pro Shops Team Tour will be held. Both events will launch from Little River Marina, 1780 County Rd. 102 Cedar Bluff, Alabama 35959.
Adam Wagner and Chris Tarpley Take Home a new Triton on Center Hill
The 2020 Bass Pro Shops Tennessee Team Tournaments 2nd Event was held on Center Hill at Ragland Bottom with 53 teams fishing. Finishing in 1st place with 5 fish weighing 15.80 lbs. was Adam Wagner and Chris Tarpley winning a 2020 Triton TX 17 with a Mercury 60 HP 4 stroke outboard valued at $ 20,000 and winning $1,200 in the option pot. They caught the winning string fishing deeper flooded trees using a Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver.
