Florida Central and Florida South Head to Lake Okeechobee for Area 5 Championship 

The Bass Pro Shops Open Series Florida Central Division and Florida South Division Area 5 Championship will be held September 28th -29th, 2019 on Lake Okeechobee in Clewiston, Florida.

The competitors will launch from Roland Martin Marina & Resort in Clewiston, Florida. Anglers may begin fishing at 7:00am or safe light on days one and two. The weigh in will begin at 3:00 p.m. each day. All anglers will compete both days of the event. There will NOT be a cut in the field. Registration begins at 4 p.m. on Friday September 27th at the ABA stage trailer at Roland Martin Marina. Registration for this event ends at 6:30pm on Friday September 27th with the meeting and partner pairing starting at 7:00pm local time.

All anglers are required to have a Florida freshwater fishing license.

Anglers fishing the Boater division may weigh in up to 5 bass each day at least 12 inches in length with an exemption permit available at registration. Co-anglers may weigh in up to 3 bass each day at least 12 inches in length with an exemption permit available at registration. 

To qualify Anglers must have fished a total of three events within a division or a combination of four events within the two divisions (Florida Central and Florida South).  To enter anglers fishing the Boater division pay $310.00 and Co-anglers pay $155.00. 

Also, the top 10 boaters and the top 10 co-anglers in points from each division after the two day is completed as well as the top 5 boaters and top 5 co-anglers by place of finish at the two-day event will qualify for the Ray Scott Championship on Lake Hartwell in April 2020.

In addition to cash and prizes for top finishes, boaters and co-anglers fishing this tournament and ABA Open Series events throughout the season may also win contingency bonuses from such sponsors as Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards, Motorguide, T-H Marine, Abu Garcia, and Maui Jim. Registration and Meeting will be held on Friday September 27, 2019 at the ABA Stage Trailer at Roland Martin Marina & Resort from 4:00pm to 6:30pm with the meeting and partner pairing at 7:00pm.

Tournament Information: 
ALL ANGLERS MUST HAVE QUALIFIED IN ORDER TO COMPETE IN THIS EVENT. PLEASE SEE THE 2019 RULES FOR ELIGIBILITY INFO.

ALL ANGLERS WILL COMPETE BOTH DAYS OF THIS EVENT, THERE IS NOT A CUT AFTER THE FIRST DAY.

Limit: 5 bass for Boaters / 3 bass for Co-Anglers
Size Limit: 12" with a Signed Exemption Permits. Exemption Permits will be available at registration.

Tom and Missy take the win and the GLine Battery $100 Bounty on Cooper River

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day on the Cooper River with mild temperatures and sunny skies!  We had eight teams come out to compete with every team bringing fish to the scales.  Several teams commented on how clear the water was and how many big bass they watched swimming but couldn’t get to bite.  It seems that the most productive bite was on crank baits and worms.  

Tom and Missy Bancroft took First Place with 5 largemouth bass weighing 8.15 lbs. earning $360.  We caught our bass on crankbaits in the morning and shaky head worms in the afternoon.
