Jim & Julie Collins win the final SC Couples Tournament of the 2019 Season on Clark’s Hill
Overcast skies and intermittent showers did not discourage the twenty-one teams that competed in the final tournament of the South Carolina Couples trail held June 8, 2019 on Clark’s Hill. The cloud cover and shower kept the temperature bearable for this time of year. Most of the fish brought to the scales were caught on top water baits or Carolina rigs.

1st Place – Jim & Julie Collins, 5 fish 16.56 lbs. and 7.17 lb. Men’s Big Bass
2nd Place – Ben & Ashley Sutton, 5 fish, 14.90 lbs.
3rd Place – JB & Tammy Wicker, 5 fish, 12.50 lbs.
4th Place – Tom & Missy Bancroft, 5 fish, 11.37 lbs.
Ladies Big Bass went to Debbie Brown with a 5.19 lb. largemouth.
Everyone enjoyed a buffet dinner at the Hickory Knobb State Park Bordeau Room with year-end awards presented after the tournament.
Congratulations to Dale and Victoria Goff for the 3peat win of South Carolina’s Anglers of the Year. They took home the Crystal along with a Lew’s reel and a gift certificate for a Kissel Kraft custom rod.

Russ Haughton Wins on Lake Mitchell
January 25, 2020, Clanton, AL. Russ Haughton of Verbena, Alabama won the Bass Pro Shops American Fishing Tour Division 24 tournament presented by American Bass Anglers.
Barry & Romaine Descaro win on Savannah River despite Tough Conditions
We all expected Floodwaters on the Savannah River to make for a tough bite. Therefore, we were not surprised that only 3 of the 7 couples brought fish to the scales. Barry & Romaine worked hard to bring 3 fish that weighed in at 4.90 lbs. to win $315 for 1st Place. Barry anchored their winning bag with men’s big fish at 1.93 lbs.
Florida Central Heads to Second Stop on Harris Chain
Athens, AL – The Florida Central Division of the Bass Pro Shops Open Series heads to Harris Chain for the second stop of the season on February 1st, 2020. Going into the second event Johnathan Semento leads the race for AOY for the boaters after a win on Lake Toho. Anthony Santoriello leads the way for Co-anglers after his victory on Lake Toho. This is only the second stop for the season and the title of Angler of the Year is still up for grabs and within everyone’s reach.
John Rice and Paul Arnold Take Home Two New Tritons at Chickamauga
John Rice of Huntsville, Al and Paul Arnold of Woodville, Al. won the Bass Pro Shops Team Tour Championship, held October 5th and 6th on Lake Chickamauga. Launching out of Dayton Boat Dock and Grill. John and Paul went straight to work and caught a two-day limit of 10 bass weighing 36.51 pounds. For their victory, the team took home 2 Triton TX-17 boats equipped with 60 HP Mercury outboards and Garmin electronics valued at $40,000.
