Terry Durham and Ann Boatright win on Lake Mitchell
ATHENS, Ala. –Terry Durham and Ann Boatright won the Bass Pro Shops Couples Series, operated by American Bass Anglers, Central Alabama Division 1 tournament, held April 27, 2019, on Lake Mitchell. Running out of Higgins Ferry, the team caught 5 bass weighing 15.05 pounds. For the victory, they earned a check for $450.00. They caught their fish on swim and spinner baits in shallow water. Terry won Men’s Big Fish with a 4.05 pound kicker.
In second for the 11 teams, Donathan and Sherry Jacks caught five bass weighing 13.19 pounds. They pocketed a check for $275.00. Sherry won the Woman’s Big Fish contest with a 3.66 pounder.
Taking third place, the team of Floyd Vaughn and Denice Howard caught 5 bass weighing 12.76 pounds. They got $100.
In fourth place, Scott and Beth Maloch caught 5 bass weighing 12.63 pounds. Mark and Amy Shannon rounded out the top five teams with 5 bass weighing 12.53 pounds.
All ABA Bass Pro Shops Couples Series events involve a team format with each team composed of one man and one woman. Contestants between 14 and 18 years old may participate with a parent’s written permission.
The next divisional tournament will be on Lay Lake on May 11, 2019 out of LaCoosa Marina. The top angling couples from across the nation earn the right to compete in the annual American Bass Anglers Couples Series National Championship tournament.

Don Sprinkle Takes the win on High Rock Lake
Don Sprinkle of Lexington, NC won the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour Divison 14 tournament presented by American Bass Anglers. Running out of Southmont ramp near Lexington, NC. Don Sprinkle brought back five fish that locked in the scales at 13.82 pounds anchored by a 4.54-pound kicker. For the victory, Don Sprinkle took home a check for $432.00.
Treye and Carol Ward win on Kentucky Lake
The ABA Bass Pro Shops Couples Series Kentucky Lake Division experienced a very successful weekend. We had 14 teams participate. The weather was very wet and windy but the lake was cooperative and relatively smooth all day considering the conditions. All 14 teams weighed fish at the end of the day. 48 fish were caught weighing over 153 pounds. All fish were released alive and well. We paid out a total of $1,190.
McMillan Wins $2400 on Lake Okeechobee
ATHENS, Ala. – Dillon McMillan of Belle Glade, FL won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series Florida South tournament, held May 18th on the Lake Okeechobee. Running out of Scott Driver Park in Okeechobee, FL Dillon caught five bass weighing 23.03 pounds. For the Boater Division victory, McMillan took home a check for $2400 for his win.
Davis and Butler win a new Triton boat on Lake Guntersville
Sunday, May 5th, 2019 the ABA Triton 100% Plus Team Tour held its second tournament of the regular season that launched from Goosepond Bait and Tackle on Lake Guntersville located in Scottsboro, AL. Eighty-three teams went head to head, on a sunny but windy day, to try and win the 2019 Triton 17TX powered by a 60HP Mercury four-stroke with Garmin Echo-map plus 93SV valued at 20K. With a massive six-and-a-half-pound lead over 2nd place, Seth Davis and Brent Butler took the victory weighing in 5 fish for a whopping weight of 29.69 pounds.
