Kentucky Open Series heads to Lake Barkley

The Kentucky Division of the Bass Pro Shop Opens Series will hold its second event on April 20, 2019, on Lake Barkley at Kuttawa Lyon County Ramp. The competitors will launch from Kuttawa Lyon County Ramp, located at Kuttawa Lyon County Ramp, Kuttawa, Kentucky 42055. Anglers may begin fishing at 6:00 a.m. or safe light. The weigh-in will begin at 3:00 p.m. Registration begins at 4 p.m. on 04/19/2019 at the Tournament Trailer set up at Kuttawa Lyon County Ramp. 

To enter, anglers fishing the Boater Division pay $210 with co-anglers paying $105. 

Anglers fishing the Boater Division may weigh in up to five bass, each at least 15" Smallmouth, Largemouth, or Spotted Bass. Co-anglers may weigh in up to three bass. 

In addition to cash and prizes for top finishers, boater and co-angler competitors fishing this tournament and Bass Pro Shops Open Series events throughout the season may also win contingency bonuses from such sponsors as Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards, MotorGuide, T-H Marine, and ABU Garcia. Don Sprinkle of Lexington, NC won the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour Divison 14 tournament presented by American Bass Anglers.  Running out of Southmont ramp near Lexington, NC.   Don Sprinkle brought back five fish that locked in the scales at 13.82 pounds anchored by a 4.54-pound kicker.  For the victory, Don Sprinkle took home a check for $432.00.

Treye and Carol Ward win on Kentucky Lake 

The ABA Bass Pro Shops Couples Series Kentucky Lake Division experienced a very successful weekend.  We had 14 teams participate.  The weather was very wet and windy but the lake was cooperative and relatively smooth all day considering the conditions.  All 14 teams weighed fish at the end of the day.  48 fish were caught weighing over 153 pounds.  All fish were released alive and well.  We paid out a total of $1,190.

ATHENS, Ala. – Dillon McMillan of Belle Glade, FL won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series Florida South tournament, held May 18th on the Lake Okeechobee. Running out of Scott Driver Park in Okeechobee, FL Dillon caught five bass weighing 23.03 pounds. For the Boater Division victory, McMillan took home a check for $2400 for his win.

Sunday, May 5th, 2019 the ABA Triton 100% Plus Team Tour held its second tournament of the regular season that launched from Goosepond Bait and Tackle on Lake Guntersville located in Scottsboro, AL. Eighty-three teams went head to head, on a sunny but windy day, to try and win the 2019 Triton 17TX powered by a 60HP Mercury four-stroke with Garmin Echo-map plus 93SV valued at 20K. With a massive six-and-a-half-pound lead over 2nd place, Seth Davis and Brent Butler took the victory weighing in 5 fish for a whopping weight of 29.69 pounds.
