American Fishing Tour - Latest News
Miles Wins on Stockton Lake
Twenty American Bass Anglers met at Stockton Lake RB Cove Ramp Saturday June 15, 2019. A storm blew through bringing rain as well as some thunder and lightning. The storm did not last long enough to delay fishing time as anglers oozed off at about 6:00 a.m. following a safety briefing and partner draw. It continued to rain a short time, but most of the day was overcast. With the water level being 18’ high, most of the fishing was done in flooded trees, bushes and picnic tables.
Jim & Julie Collins win the final SC Couples Tournament of the 2019 Season on Clark’s Hill
Overcast skies and intermittent showers did not discourage the twenty-one teams that competed in the final tournament of the South Carolina Couples trail held June 8, 2019 on Clark’s Hill. The cloud cover and shower kept the temperature bearable for this time of year. Most of the fish brought to the scales were caught on top water baits or Carolina rigs.
Lake Ouachita Tamed by Simonof
ATHENS, Ala. –John Simonof of Jacksonville, AR won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series Arkansas tournament, held June 15th on Lake Ouachita. Running out of Mountain Harbor Resort, Simonof caught five-bass weighing 13.94-pounds. Summertime fishing blues… a tough bite, warm water, lots of fish caught but the big girls just didn’t want to play. The entire field struggled to get keepers in the boat, so the weights were low for this one, but someone always finishes at the top.
Davis and Butler win a new Triton boat on Lake Guntersville
Sunday, May 5th, 2019 the ABA Triton 100% Plus Team Tour held its second tournament of the regular season that launched from Goosepond Bait and Tackle on Lake Guntersville located in Scottsboro, AL. Eighty-three teams went head to head, on a sunny but windy day, to try and win the 2019 Triton 17TX powered by a 60HP Mercury four-stroke with Garmin Echo-map plus 93SV valued at 20K. With a massive six-and-a-half-pound lead over 2nd place, Seth Davis and Brent Butler took the victory weighing in 5 fish for a whopping weight of 29.69 pounds.
