Florida South Returns to Lake Okeechobee

ATHENS, Ala. – The Florida South Division of the 2019 Bass Pro Shops Open Series presented by American Bass Anglers returns on March 23, 2019, to Lake Okeechobee in Clewiston, FL.

The competitors will launch at Roland Martin Marina and Resort, located at 920 E. Del Monte Ave, Clewiston, FL 33440. Anglers may begin fishing at 7:15 a.m. or safe light. The weigh-in will begin at 3:15 p.m. Registration begins at 4 p.m. local time at Roland Martin Marina and Resort with the tournament briefing to begin at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening.

To enter, anglers fishing the Boater Division pay $210 with co-anglers paying $105. The payout for all events will be based on the number of entries, for one-day divisional events, $5000 will go the winning boater based on a minimum of 60 boats, for each 2-day Area Championship $10,000 for boaters and $5,000 for co-anglers based on 100 boats. Anglers fishing the Boater Division may weigh in up to five bass, each at least 12 inches long with an exemption permit available at registration. Co-anglers may weigh in up to three bass

In addition to cash and prizes for top finishers, boater and co-angler competitors may also win contingency bonuses from such sponsors as Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards, MotorGuide, T-H Marine, Power Pole, Berkley and ABU Garcia. Sipe weighed in five bass, which weighed 16.31-pounds. Second place went to Don Sprinkle of Lexington, NC with five bass weighing 12.70-pounds. Athens, AL 03/05/2019 -   The Bass Pro Shops Team Tour Alabama North Neely Henry tournament scheduled for Saturday 3/9/2019 has been rescheduled due to high water levels and unsafe boating conditions.  The lake is currently above flood level and not expected to recede enough prior to the event to be safe. Angler safety is our number one priority and in the best interest of our anglers the tournament has been rescheduled to April 14, 2019.  The rescheduled tournament will still launch from Coosa Landing.  Registration will be held on site at Coosa Landing at the ABA stage trailer 4:00-6:30 with safety briefing and partner pairing at 7:00 p.m.
