David Howell Takes the win on Seminole

David Howell from Bainbridge, Ga. is one step closer to the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour National Championship with a first place win in the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour Seminole Division 114 bass tournament held on Lake Seminole March 3, 2019. David’s limit weighed in at 19.67-pounds.  Big Bass was awarded to Kyle Brooks for catching a 5.75-lb large mouth.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to ensure their birth in o the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour National Championship. Their points are also being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. The top angler by points earned in this division will represent the division in the Angler of the Year final round.

The top six anglers were:

1st David Howell 19.67-lbs
2nd Chad Prough 17.27-lbs
3rd Kyle Brooks 15.63-lbs
4th Bradley Enfinger 14.63-lbs
5th Nic Jeter 13.19-lbs
6th Steve Phillips 12.29-lbs

Conditions: Cloudy overcast skies, windy & with mild temp day! Waters temperatures were in the middle 60's!  Water was muddy.

Winning Strategy: David's pattern was fishing a Texas rig on sandy spots!

Heintz Takes the Win on Grand Lake

Twelve anglers launched from the Tera Miranda ramp on Monkey Island near Grove, OK.  Seven of those anglers brought back five-fish limits to the scales, but when the scales closed Curtis Heintz from Olathe, KS, took the victory with a total weight of 17.64 lbs including a 5.95 lb. black bass for Big Bass honors.  He accredited his win to just fishing deep.  For the win, Heintz took home over $500 in prize money.

Running out of Sugar Creek Marina in Buckhead, GA the Atlanta, GA angler caught a limit weighing 14.41 pounds including a big bass that weighed 5.44-pounds.

Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed.  The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday.  The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament.  The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
