North Carolina Heads To Lake Wylie
ATHENS, Ala. – The North Carolina Division of the Bass Pro Shops Open Series presented by American Bass Anglers will hold its second event of the season on Lake Wylie on 3/9/19.
The competitors will launch from South Point Wildlife access area located at 199 Boat Launch Rd. Belmont North Carolina. Anglers will begin fishing at 6:30 am or safe light on Saturday 3/9/19 with the weigh-in to start at 2:30 pm. Registration begins at 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Friday 3/08/2019 local time at the ABA stage trailer at South Point Access with the pairings meeting to follow at 7:00 p.m.

To enter, anglers fishing the boater division pay $210.00 with co-anglers paying $105.00 per event. The payout for all events will be based on the number of entries. For one day divisional events $5000.00 will be paid to the winning boater based on a minimum of 60 boats. As the field increases the payout also increases. For each 2-day area championship $10,000.00 will be paid to the winning boater based on a minimum of 100 boats and $5000.00 paid to the winning co-angler based on 100 boats.
In addition to cash and prizes for top finishers, boater and co-angler competitors fishing this tournament and Bass Pro Shops Open Series events throughout the season may also win contingency bonuses from such sponsors as Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards, MotorGuide, T-H Marine, Nitro Boats, Tracker Marine, Berkley and Power Pole. Registration is from 4:00 pm until 6:30 pm with the pairings meeting to follow at 7:00 pm.
Limit: 5bass for the boaters/ 3 bass for the co-anglers
Size limit: All bass must be a minimum of 14 inches in length.
Take off: 6:30 am. or safe light
Weigh in 2:30 pm
Time zone: Eastern
All anglers must have a valid North Carolina fishing license for fishing North Carolina waters AND a valid South Carolina fishing license for fishing South Carolina waters. All boaters must have a minimum of $100,000.00 liability insurance in your possession for the boat you are operating.

Reeves Takes the win on Lake Istokpoga
The wind blew Saturday and it rained off and on all day Sunday (hard), even at the weigh-in. But we had the best day fishing this year, six contestants weighed in over 103 lbs. Brain Reeves of Sebring, FL won the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour D28 two-day tournament held April 25th. Running out of Windy Point Ramp Brain brought back a two-day total weight of 34.18-lbs. anchored with a nice 7.63-lb kicker. For the win, he took home $588.
Bobby and Karen Holman win on Lake Mitchell
Bobby and Karen Holman won the Bass Pro Shops Couples Series, operated by American Bass Anglers, Central Alabama Division 1 tournament, held May 16, 2020, on Lake Mitchell. Running out of Higgins Ferry boat ramp out of Clanton, AL, they caught 5 bass weighing 14.85 pounds. For the victory, they earned a check for $500.00. Bobby won the Man’s Big Fish with a 4.39-pound kicker. They caught their fish early in the morning in shallow water.
DeBord Takes the Win at Clark’s Hill
Steve DeBord of Grovetown, Ga won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series event held on Clark’s Hill on 7/11/20. Running out of the Dorn Boating facility in McCormick, SC DeBord weighed in a five bass limit weighing 19.45 pounds. His limit was anchored by a bass weighing 5.24 pounds which was the biggest bass weighed in by a boater. DeBord took home $1730.00 for his catch.
Penney and Lowe Take Home $9000 on Weiss
ATHENS, Ala. – The 2020 Bass Pro Shops Alabama Team Tour’s 3rd event was held on Weiss Lake at Little River Marina with 90 teams fishing. Finishing in 1st place with 5 fish weighing 19.38 lbs. was Hunter Penney and Charles Lowe winning a $9,000. They caught the winning string fishing topwater, swim jigs in the grass and flipping plastics in treetops.
