Alabama North and Mississippi to hold
Area 1 Championship on Pickwick
The American Bass Anglers Open Series will hold its Area 1 Championship on Pickwick out of McFarland Park on October 6 -7, 2018.
The anglers will launch from McFarland Park in Florence, Alabama at 6:30 a.m. or safe light on day one and two. Weigh-in will be at 3:00 p.m. on day one and at 2:00 p.m. on day two. Registration will be held at the tournament trailer on Friday, October 5th starting at 4:00 p.m. with a meeting to follow at 6:30 p.m.
To qualify for this event anglers much have fished at least three events within one division or two events from the Alabama division and two events from the Mississippi division. Entry fees for anglers are $300.00 for boaters and $150.00 for Co Anglers.
Size limits for this event are15 inch Largemouth, Smallmouth and Spotted Bass.
The top 10 boaters and the top 10 co-anglers in points from each division after the two-day is completed as well as the top 5 boaters and top 5 co-anglers by place of finish at the two-day event (that haven’t qualified by points) will qualify for the Ray Scott Championship on Lake Eufaula in April 2019.
In addition to cash and prizes for top finishes, boaters and co anglers fishing this tournament and ABA Open Series events throughout the season may also win contingency bonuses from such sponsors as Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards, Motorguide, T-H Marine, Abu Garcia, and Maui Jim.
Limit: 5bass for Boaters / 3 bass for Co-Anglers
Size Limit: 15” Largemouth, Smallmouth and Spotted Bass

Rickie Bonner Takes the Win on the Tensaw River
December 8, 2018, Mobile, AL. Rickie Bonner of Mobile, Alabama won the American Fishing Tour Division 41 tournament presented by American Bass Anglers. Running out of Live Oak Landing near Stockton, Alabama Bonner brought back five-fish that locked in the scales at 11.76-lbs anchored by a 3.23-pound kicker. For the victory, Bonner took home a check for $376.
South Carolina Couples Cancels 12/8 Tournament
The South Carolina Couples Division 11 has canceled the 12/8 tournament scheduled for Lake Wateree. This decision has been made due to falling lake levels, the ramp and the launch site is inaccessible.
