Division 29, Alabama North, Larry Laney of Bryant, Al notched his fifth AFT win of the season and is one step closer to the 2018 ABA National Championship with yet another 1st Place finish during the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held at Lake Guntersville on the 7ty of July. There were 17 anglers fishing this event with seven limits being caught. The weather was, as usual here, hot and humid. Larry brought 23.30 lbs of fish to the scales for the win. 2nd Place position with another great daily limit was Chuck Hemm who wrestled in 22.97 lbs and also landed the day’s big fish, an 8.15 lb grass gorilla. Jim Atchley placed 3rd with 19.45 lbs. These anglers credited a jig for the heavy lifting.
These anglers are acquiring valuable points to ensure their birth in this division’s two-day championship and the American Fishing Tour 2018 National Championship on Lake Hartwell. Their points are also being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. The top angler by points earned in this division will represent the division in the Angler of the Year final round.

Ben & Ashley Sutton Take the Win on Clark’s Hill
The first event of the 2022 South Carolina ABA Couples season was held on Clark’s Hill out of Hickory Knobb State Park. It was a beautiful day to be on the water. Ben & Ashley Sutton came out on top of the field of 22 teams with 5 bass weighing 13.01 lbs. Ben & Ashley were awarded $825 for their first-place finish.
2022 Open Series Registration Now Open
Registration is now open for the 2022 Open Series. The 2022 season offers 16 divisions, Alabama North, Alabama South, Florida Central, Florida South, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee Central, Tennessee East, Texas East, and Texas Southeast, and Virginia.

Team Tour Championship Postponed
Out of an overabundance of caution The Team Tour Championship that was scheduled for 10/10-11/2020 on Wheeler Lake has be postponed. The National Weather Service is forecasting winds of 10-20 mph with gust up to 35mph for Saturday, and winds of 10-15 mph with gust up to 20 mph Sunday. The safety of our anglers is the number on concern and factor when making the tough decisions on postponing a tournament. The new dates for the Team Tour Championship will be November 21-22 on Wheeler Lak
