D66 Heads to El Dorado

Division 66 tournament at El Dorado Lake on Sunday 29 Apr 2017. Launch site is the Blue Stem #1 boat ramp. Registration will start at 5:45 a.m. Morning meeting and safety briefing will start at 6:30 a.m. We will launch following the morning meeting and fish until 3:00 p.m. Entry Fee is $70, optional Big Bass pot is $10. American Bass Anglers membership $35. All Division 66 tournaments held at El Dorado Lake will have a 4 fish limit of 15 inches or longer.  Boaters are required to supply a backseat for their non-boaters.

These anglers are earning valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual  American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of the Year Final Round at the American Fishing Tour National Championship.

The American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the US are invited to the American Fishing Tour National Championship. Barry & Romaine Descaro win on Savannah River despite Tough Conditions

We all expected Floodwaters on the Savannah River to make for a tough bite.  Therefore, we were not surprised that only 3 of the 7 couples brought fish to the scales.  Barry & Romaine worked hard to bring 3 fish that weighed in at 4.90 lbs. to win $315 for 1st Place.  Barry anchored their winning bag with men’s big fish at 1.93 lbs.

Kirsch Wins $5300 in Florida South Season Opener on Lake Okeechobee

Scott Kirsch of Edgewater, FL won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series Florida South tournament held January 25th on Lake Okeechobee.  Running out of Roland Martin Marina & Resort in Clewiston, FL Scott caught five bass weighing 18.00 pounds. For the Boater Division victory, Kirsch took home a check for $5300 for his win and will receive an additional $200 for being the highest finishing boater in the Berkley Cast for Cash program.

John Rice of Huntsville, Al and Paul Arnold of Woodville, Al. won the Bass Pro Shops Team Tour Championship, held October 5th and 6th on Lake Chickamauga. Launching out of Dayton Boat Dock and Grill. John and Paul went straight to work and caught a two-day limit of 10 bass weighing 36.51 pounds. For their victory, the team took home 2 Triton TX-17 boats equipped with 60 HP Mercury outboards and Garmin electronics valued at $40,000.
