North Carolina Heads to Kerr Lake
ATHENS, Ala. – The North Carolina Division of the Open Series will hold its next event of the season on Kerr Lake on 4/28/2018. The competitors will launch from Nutbush Park located at 115 Jack Wade Farm Road Henderson NC 27536. Anglers will begin fishing at safe light until 2:30 pm.
Registration will be at the ABA stage trailer on Friday 4/27/2018 at Nutbush Park

Registration will run from 4:00 PM-6:30 PM with the pairings meeting to follow
At 7:00 PM. Anglers holding a Freedom pass must text or call 256-497-0967
Friday 4/27/2018 to confirm you are fishing the event.
To enter, anglers fishing the boater division pay $200.00 per single day events
with the co-anglers paying $100.00 for the single day events. The first place
boater is guaranteed a minimum of $5000.00.
Anglers fishing the boater division may weigh in up to five bass and the co-anglers may weigh in up to three bass.
In addition to cash and prizes for top finishers, boater and co-angler competitors
may also win contingency bonuses from such sponsors as Triton Boats, Mercury
Outboards, Motorguide, T-H Marine, ABU Garcia and Power Pole. See the Manufacturer websites for specific details on how to qualify for these bonuses.
Limit: 5bass for the boaters, 3 bass for the co-anglers
Size limit: You may have 2bass between 12-14 inches. The remainder of your creel must be at least 14 inches.
Off limits: Anything marked off limits, keep out, no fishing, no boats etc.plus the launch ramps and docks at Nutbush Park.
This will be a trailered weigh in.
All competitors are required to have either a valid North Carolina or Virginia
fishing license in their possession.
Take off: 6:30 or safelight
Weigh in 2:30 pm.

Mike Blalock & Deanna Phillips win on Lake Russell
Mike & Deanna are making a strong run for the points this year with their second first place finish. They were just one of the 29 teams that braved the cold and wind of December to compete on Lake Russell. The following round out the top 5 teams who earned a placement check along with Men’s Big Fish, Ladies Big Fish and Berkeley’s Smallest 5 Five Fish Limit:

David Beason of Evans, LA won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series South Texas tournament, held January 18th on Sam Rayburn Reservoir. Running out of Cassel’s Boykin Park, David caught five-bass weighing 29.90 lbs. With 74 anglers in the field, David took home a check for $5200.00
Raining for almost the entire week, the lake level was on the rise, but the weather was warm. Spotty showers on Saturday morning for take-off with an approaching cold front set the tone for a potentially good day.
John Rice and Paul Arnold Take Home Two New Tritons at Chickamauga
John Rice of Huntsville, Al and Paul Arnold of Woodville, Al. won the Bass Pro Shops Team Tour Championship, held October 5th and 6th on Lake Chickamauga. Launching out of Dayton Boat Dock and Grill. John and Paul went straight to work and caught a two-day limit of 10 bass weighing 36.51 pounds. For their victory, the team took home 2 Triton TX-17 boats equipped with 60 HP Mercury outboards and Garmin electronics valued at $40,000.
