Dustin Wood wins on Lake Eufaula
Fifty-six Anglers took to the water on Lake Eufaula this past Saturday to fish the 9 February 2019 Bass Pro Shop AFT Division 12 One Day Qualifier. Dustin Wood set the standard by taking first place with 28.27 lbs., anchored by a chunky 8.24lb kicker. Bobby Padgett placed 2nd with 21.26 lbs., followed by Robert Enke (Co Angler) with 20.45 lbs. Enke had the big fish of the tournament weighing in at 8.25 lbs. A total of nine Anglers received checks for their efforts. Three bass over 8 lbs. were weighed in. The lake was heavily stained and the water temperature was in the 50’s. Fish were caught in both shallow and deep patterns on a variety of baits ranging from plastics, blades and crankbaits. The next tournament on Lake Eufaula is scheduled for 3 March and the lake should be on fire. Will it take 30 lbs to win and will there be a nine pounder caught, we’ll just have to wait and see!
South Carolina Couples Cancels 12/8 Tournament
The South Carolina Couples Division 11 has canceled the 12/8 tournament scheduled for Lake Wateree. This decision has been made due to falling lake levels, the ramp and the launch site is inaccessible. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and look forward to seeing you all at the next tournament.
Ross Barnett Produces Big Numbers
ATHENS, Ala. – Ray King of Brandon, MS won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series Mississippi divisional opener held February 16th on Ross Barnett Reservoir. Running out of Tommy’s Trading Post, Ray caught five-bass weighing 26.55-pounds. For the Boater Division victory, King took home a check for $5500 for his win and $810 for his big bass of 7.47-lbs.
Mason and Walker win new Triton boat at Guntersville
Saturday, February 9, 2019 the Bass Pro Shops Team Tour operated by American Bass Anglers held its first tournament of the regular season that launched from Goosepond Bait and Tackle on Guntersville Lake located in Scottsboro, Alabama. Ninety-three teams went to battle in cold weather conditions to try and win the 2019 Triton 17TX powered by a 60HP Mercury four-stroke with Garmin Echo-map plus 63CV valued at 20K. With a 5-pound lead over 2nd place Jimmy Mason and Lance Walker took the victory weighing in 5 fish for a total weight of 33.82-pounds. The team also earned a check for $900 for taking 1st place in the High Stakes Option Pot.
