South Carolina Heads To Lake Murray
ATHENS, Ala. – The South Carolina Division of the Open Series will hold its Second event of the season on February 17, 2018 on Lake Murray. The competitors will launch from Dreher Island State Park Located at 3677 State Park Road Prosperity, SC. Anglers will begin fishing at 7:00 am or safe light until 3:00 PM.
Registration will be at the ABA stage trailer located at Dreher Island State Park. Registration will run from 4:00 pm- 6:30pm with the pairings meeting to follow at 7:00 pm. Freedom pass Holders must call or text 256-497-0967 Friday 2-16-18 Between 4:00-6:30 pm to confirm you are fishing the event.
To enter anglers fishing the boater division pay $200.00 per single day events
with the co-anglers paying $100.00 for the single day events. The first place boater is guaranteed a minimum of $5000.00.
Anglers fishing the boater division may weigh in up to five bass and the co-anglers may weigh in up to three bass.
In addition to cash and prizes for top finishers, boater and co-angler competitors may also win contingency bonuses from such sponsors as Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards, Motorguide, T-H Marine and ABU Garcia. See the manufacturer Websites for specific details on how to qualify for these bonuses.

Size limit: All bass must be a minimum of 14 inches in length.

All anglers are required to have a valid South Carolina fishing license.

Don Armbrust Wins on Lake DeGray
ABA American Fishing Tour D47 held its sixth 2019 season tournament on 16 Feb 2019 on Lake DeGray. Anglers were greeted with a cloudy and breezy day with temps in the 40’s. Recent rains pushed the lake level up about two feet and muddied/stained many creeks. Fishing was productive but larger fish where not present for this group today.
South Carolina Couples Cancels 12/8 Tournament
The South Carolina Couples Division 11 has canceled the 12/8 tournament scheduled for Lake Wateree. This decision has been made due to falling lake levels, the ramp and the launch site is inaccessible. Ross Barnett Produces Big Numbers
ATHENS, Ala. – Ray King of Brandon, MS won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series Mississippi divisional opener held February 16th on Ross Barnett Reservoir. Running out of Tommy’s Trading Post, Ray caught five-bass weighing 26.55-pounds. For the Boater Division victory, King took home a check for $5500 for his win and $810 for his big bass of 7.47-lbs.
Mason and Walker win new Triton boat at Guntersville
Saturday, February 9, 2019 the Bass Pro Shops Team Tour operated by American Bass Anglers held its first tournament of the regular season that launched from Goosepond Bait and Tackle on Guntersville Lake located in Scottsboro, Alabama. Ninety-three teams went to battle in cold weather conditions to try and win the 2019 Triton 17TX powered by a 60HP Mercury four-stroke with Garmin Echo-map plus 63CV valued at 20K. With a 5-pound lead over 2nd place Jimmy Mason and Lance Walker took the victory weighing in 5 fish for a total weight of 33.82-pounds. The team also earned a check for $900 for taking 1st place in the High Stakes Option Pot.
