Ray Neighbors Wins the ABA District 47 2018 season opener on Lake Hamilton
The first tournament of the ABA American Fishing Tour D47 2018 season was held on 4 Nov 2017 and contested on Lake Hamilton. 29 anglers came out on a dreary day in the hopes of filling their livewells with hungry Hamilton bass. A limit-fest as usual, 17 5-fish limits and a total of 99 bass for 159.84lbs were weighed.
Ray Neighbors topped the field with five fish for a total weight of 12.21 lbs. Ray threw a Rat-L-Trap & jig to catch his fish.
Brian Bean sacked up five fish for a total weight of 10.77 lbs. Brian relied on a Carolina Rig and caught some breaking fish to fill his livewell.
Blake Wilson rounded out the top three with a total weight of 10.52 lbs. Blake used a jig and caught some schooling fish to fill his limit. Blake also caught the big bass of the day at 3.26 lbs.

The next tournament in the D42 division is on the Arkansas River/Pine Bluff 18 Nov 2017 launching from the Regional Park ramp.
The ABA AFT National Championship for the 2018 season will be on Lake Hartwell in October 2018.

Donald Griffith Takes the Win on the Tensaw River
May 31, 2020, Mobile, AL. Donald Griffith of Robertsdale, Alabama won the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour Division 41 Two Day tournament presented by American Bass Anglers on the Tensaw River. Running out of Live Oak Landing, Griffith brought back a two day total that locked in the scales at 20.87 pounds. For the victory Griffith took home $802.
Bobby and Karen Holman win on Lake Mitchell
Bobby and Karen Holman won the Bass Pro Shops Couples Series, operated by American Bass Anglers, Central Alabama Division 1 tournament, held May 16, 2020, on Lake Mitchell. Running out of Higgins Ferry boat ramp out of Clanton, AL, they caught 5 bass weighing 14.85 pounds. For the victory, they earned a check for $500.00. Bobby won the Man’s Big Fish with a 4.39-pound kicker. They caught their fish early in the morning in shallow water.
Weiss Lake Double Header
June 1, 2020, Athens, AL. June 6 and 7 ABA will host a doubleheader weekend on Weiss Lake in Centre AL. On Saturday, the third tournament for the Bass Pro Shops Open Series North Alabama Division will be held. Sunday, the Bass Pro Shops Team Tour will be held. Both events will launch from Little River Marina, 1780 County Rd. 102 Cedar Bluff, Alabama 35959.
