Scott Randall wins final Division 13 Qualifier
Visiting Maryland Director, Scott Randall of King George, VA won the American Bass Anglers, RAM American Fishing Tour Virginia Division 13 tournament held August 26,2017 on Lake Chickahominy. Running out of Riverfront park near James City, VA Scott brought back a five-fish limit that locked in the scales at 12.71 lbs. Scott took home a home a check for $640 for his first-place finish.
“I worked small plastics up creeks concentrating on submerged wood wherever there was a depth break. The tide was perfect. outgoing for the better part of the day.” Said Scott.
Second place was taken by a long-time angler in the Virginia division, Kelly Pratt of Williamsburg, VA. Kelly brought back a five-fish limit that went 12.50 lbs. on the scales. Kelly anchored his catch with a 3.81 lb. bass and pocketed $389 for his second-place finish.
Third place was claimed by Kevin Hensley of Clarksville, VA with a 5-fish limit that locked in the scales at 11.81 lbs. He took home $137 for his efforts.
Coming in fourth place was Joseph Carr of Lanexa, VA with a weight of 11.60 lbs.
Rounding out the top five was Richard Bates of Yorktown, VA with a weight of 11.50 lbs. Richard also landed the big bass of the tournament, a 5.97 lb. lunker. He took home $125 for landing that big fish.
Weights were very close at the top of the leaderboard for this one-day event on the Chickahominy River, with the top 9 anglers all within 2 pounds of the leader.
The next event is the division 2-day championship at Kerr lake on the 16th and 17th of September

These anglers are earning valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual Ram American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of the Year Final Round at the Ram American Fishing Tour National Championship.

R. V. Mann Jr. wins on Lake Gaston
R. V. Mann Jr., of Whitkers, North Carolina won the AFT Division 17, North Carolina Central tournament on Lake Gaston. The event was held on Lake Gaston on 17 November 2018, launching out of Salmon Landing (Little Stonehouse Creek) off of 903 in Littleton, North Carolina. It was a tough day of fishing starting off in the lower 30’s, warming to around 55 in the afternoon.
Kerry and Heather Wilson win on Lake Jordan
ATHENS, Ala. – Kerry and Heather Wilson won the American Couples Series, operated by American Bass Anglers, Central Alabama Division 1 tournament, held November 10, 2018, on Lake Jordan. Running out of the Bonnor’s Landing, the team caught 5-bass weighing 10.31-pounds. For the victory, they earned a check for $405.00. The Wilson’s caught their fish on swim jigs.
