Rick Holmberg wins again on Candlewood
Rick Holmberg of Bayport, NY won the RAM American Fishing Tour presented by American Bass Anglers, Connecticut Division 6 tournament, held on Candlewood Lake.
Running out of the State ramp landing near the town of New Fairfield, Connecticut, Holmberg caught 5 bass weighing 12.34 pounds. Included in Ricks bag was a 4.72 pound largemouth for the big fish of the day. This is the second time Rick has won at Candlewood this year. This time Rick said, “I caught all of my fish by fishing a 1/8-ounce jig head attached to a small 2.3 inch keitech swimbait in about 10 to 15 feet of water.” For both categories, Rick took home $563.00 in cash.
In second among the competitors, new member Brad Holmes from Hudson, New York caught his limit of bass weighing 12.32 pounds. Brad collected 268.00 for his efforts.
Taking third place, and fishing his second event of the year Chris Weber from Manorville, New York caught a limit of bass weighing12.02 pounds. Chris said, “I caught my fish on the same methods and baits that Rick used in about the same area of the lake.” He took home $86.00.
In fourth place Dave Cangro of Nesconset, New York caught a limit of bass for 11.27 pounds and current AOY leader Jared Trimboli from St James, New York rounded out the top five competitors with 9.54 pounds.
The next division 6 tournament will be held on 24 June, 2017 at Twin Lakes Connecticut. These anglers accrued valuable points toward the Divisional Angler of the Year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the RAM AFT Championship. In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, RAM AFT National Championship tournament. The RAM American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points.

R. V. Mann Jr. wins on Lake Gaston
R. V. Mann Jr., of Whitkers, North Carolina won the AFT Division 17, North Carolina Central tournament on Lake Gaston. The event was held on Lake Gaston on 17 November 2018, launching out of Salmon Landing (Little Stonehouse Creek) off of 903 in Littleton, North Carolina. It was a tough day of fishing starting off in the lower 30’s, warming to around 55 in the afternoon.
Kerry and Heather Wilson win on Lake Jordan
ATHENS, Ala. – Kerry and Heather Wilson won the American Couples Series, operated by American Bass Anglers, Central Alabama Division 1 tournament, held November 10, 2018, on Lake Jordan. Running out of the Bonnor’s Landing, the team caught 5-bass weighing 10.31-pounds. For the victory, they earned a check for $405.00. The Wilson’s caught their fish on swim jigs.

Galbraith and Mason win the Triton 100% Plus Team Tour Championship
The team of Roy Galbraith of Guin, Alabama and Richard Mason of Athens, Alabama took home the win in the American Bass Anglers Triton Plus 100% Team Tour Championship, held on Pickwick Lake November 3rd and 4th, 2018. Launching out of McFarland Park in Florence, Alabama, the team of Galbraith and Mason caught a five-bass limit on day one weighing 17.28-pounds
