Tim Boughan wins on Highland


Tim Boughan won the RAM American Fishing Tour presented by American Bass Anglers, Connecticut Division 6 tournament, held on Highland Lake .

Running out of the State ramp landing near the town of Winsted, Ct, the newly membered Avon, Connecticut angler caught his 5 fish limit of bass weighing 15.55 pounds which included a 4.22 smallmouth for the big fish of the tournament. For the victory, Tim took home a check for $490.00 for both awards.

"I caught my fish by fishing tubes, senkos and other small plastics around shallow docks." Said Boughan.

In second among the competitors, Nunzio Prato from Shirley, New York. Prato caught his 5 bass limit weighing 12.40 pounds. Nunzy said he caught the majority of his fish by sight fishing. He pocketed $212.00. 
 

Taking third place, Gary McClarran from Stafford Springs, Connecticut caught 5 bass weighing 11.11 pounds catching his fish on a Venom small plastic worm.

In fourth place John Ogolik of Terryville, Connecticut, caught his limit good for 9.41 pounds.
 

Jared Trimboli from St. James New York rounded out the top five competitors with 5 bass weighing 9.26 pounds.

These anglers accrued valuable points toward the Divisional Angler of the Year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the RAM AFT Championship.  In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, RAM AFT National Championship tournament. The RAM American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points.
