South Carolina Division Heads To Lake Russell
ATHENS, Ala. – The South Carolina Division will hold its fourth tournament on Lake Russell on 5/20/2017.
The competitors will launch from Calhoun Falls State Park. Anglers will begin fishing at 6:00 am or safe light until 2:00 pm. Registration will be at the ABA stage trailer located at Calhoun Falls State park on Friday 5/19/2017. To register for this tournament, see
To enter, anglers fishing the Boater Division pay $200 with co-anglers paying $100. First place is guaranteed a minimum $5,000 for boaters. To learn more about the payout visit www.ramopenseries.com/payout.php
Anglers fishing the Boater Division may weigh in up to five bass. Co Anglers may weigh in up to 3 bass. All bass must be a minimum of 12 inches in length.
In addition to cash and prizes for top finishers, boater and co-angler competitors fishing this tournament and Ram Truck Open Series events throughout the season may also win contingency bonuses from such sponsors as Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards, MotorGuide, T-H Marine, ABU Garcia and Livingston Lures. Mike & Deanna are making a strong run for the points this year with their second first place finish. They were just one of the 29 teams that braved the cold and wind of December to compete on Lake Russell. David Beason of Evans, LA won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series South Texas tournament, held January 18th on Sam Rayburn Reservoir. Running out of Cassel’s Boykin Park, David caught five-bass weighing 29.90 lbs. With 74 anglers in the field, David took home a check for $5200.00
Raining for almost the entire week, the lake level was on the rise, but the weather was warm. Spotty showers on Saturday morning for take-off with an approaching cold front set the tone for a potentially good day.
John Rice and Paul Arnold Take Home Two New Tritons at Chickamauga
John Rice of Huntsville, Al and Paul Arnold of Woodville, Al. won the Bass Pro Shops Team Tour Championship, held October 5th and 6th on Lake Chickamauga. Launching out of Dayton Boat Dock and Grill. John and Paul went straight to work and caught a two-day limit of 10 bass weighing 36.51 pounds. For their victory, the team took home 2 Triton TX-17 boats equipped with 60 HP Mercury outboards and Garmin electronics valued at $40,000.
