Mike Colbert Wins on Lake Gaston
Mike Colbert of Newport, North Carolina won the AFT D17 North Carolina Central tournament on Lake Gaston. The event was held on Lake Gaston on April 29th launching out of Stonehouse Creek Ramp. Mike caught five bass weighing 11.64 pounds. He caught his fish within a mile of the launch site on soft plastics and crank baits. Congratulation Mike.
Bobby Davis took the big fish honors with a bass weighing 3.85 pounds.
It was a tough day of fishing following the flooding rains a few days before the tournament. While everything else in the area was flooded, the Corps of Engineers kept Lake Gaston pretty much at normal pool, which meant they had to pull a lot of water.
