Doug Shrum Takes the Wins on the Arkansas River
Doug Shrum of North Little Rock, AR crushed the field with five fish for a total weight of 7.54 pounds. Giving him the win for the Ram American Fishing Tour Arkansas River Division 42 held on the Arkansas River in the Pine Bluff Pool April 29, 2017. Moving him one step closer to the Ram American Fishing Tour National Championship. Doug threw a jig and crankbait to catch his fish.
Gary Hubble of Alexander, AR sacked up four fish for a total weight of 7.01 pounds on a jig to finish in second place.
Rounding out the top three was BJ Knowles of Monticello, AR who sacked up three fish for a total weight of 6.69 pounds.
Big Bass of day weighed 3.14 pounds and was caught by Curtis Massey of England, AR.
High flow, high water, and high winds kept many anglers away. But, a few came out and endured the conditions for chance at the win. 12 anglers were greeted with a heavy stained river with high flow and water that had risen 5 feet over the past couple of days. Most anglers struggled as only one 5-fish limit was brought to the scales.
1st Doug Shrum 7.54lbs.
2nd Gary Hubble 7.01 lbs.
3rd BJ Knowles 6.69 lbs.
4th Curtis Massey 5.02 lbs.
5th Luke Bradley 3.69 lbs.
The next tournament in this division is on the Arkansas River on 1 July 2017 launching out of Maumelle Park.
I’d like to thank our local sponsors who provide great support throughout the year.
