James Bean Wins Couples Event Solo on Lake Guntersville
James Bean from Weaver, AL had to fish by himself during the Alabama North Couples Tour event held on Lake Guntersville April 8th,2017.  Fishing alone and having his trolling motor quit on him mid-day didn’t keep James from victory. 
 
James had a winning weight of 13.72 pounds and he also won Men’s Big Bass with a 4.92-pound beauty.  James credited a Senko for the big fish and chunked a variety of lures during the fishing day. 
 
Ken and Pam Draskovic came in second place with 12.50 pounds.  Catching their fish with crankbaits and soft plastics. 
 
The team of Austin Daniel and Michelle Norrod placed third with the final limit of the 13 team field and a weight of 9.20 pounds. 
 
Ladies big bass was a 2.68 pounder secured by Elaine Holler throwing her favorite colored brush hog.

All ABA American Couples Series events involve a team format with each team composed of one man and one woman. Although many married couples compete together as teams, some teams consist of boyfriend and girlfriend combinations, parent-child combinations or just two friends. Contestants between 12 and 18 years old may participate with a parent’s written permission.
 
The top angling couples from across the nation earn the right to compete in the annual American Bass Anglers Couples Series National Championship tournament.
