Kotal Wins on Clark’s Hill
Jerry Kotal of Elberton, Georgia won the American Bass Anglers Ram Truck Open Series South Carolina division tournament held 3/25/2017 on Clark’s Hill Lake.
Running out of the Dorn Fishing Facility near McCormick, South Carolina, Jerry caught five bass weighing 25.79 pounds. He anchored his bag with a 7.49 pound kicker. For the Boater division victory, Kotal took home a check for $5,000. Being a Triton Gold member Kotal earned an additional $500 from Triton Boats.
"I caught most of my fish early fishing a spinnerbait and a trickworm. I culled up two times today," said Kotal.
In second for the Boaters, Bryan Gunter of Ninety Six, South Carolina landed a five bass tournament limit going 24.13 pounds with a 8.25 pound kicker. He collected $1,500 for the effort. "I caught most of my fish on a hand tied jig. I caught fish all day and I culled up about 6 times," said Gunter.
Joseph Marks of Duncan, South Carolina took third for the Boaters with five bass weighing 18.72 pounds. His limit earned him $1,000. "I probably caught 40 fish today and I was able to cull up about 5 times. All of my fish came off a square billed crankbait," stated Marks.
Finishing fourth, Chad Brounkowski of Greenwood, South Carolina landed a five bass limit for 18.67 pounds.
Sean Skey of Sumter, South Carolina rounded out the top five Boaters with five bass at 17.70 pounds.
The biggest bass for the Boaters was caught by Jerry Pelfrey from Laurens, South Carolina. Pelfrey’s bass weighed in at 8.29 pounds earning him $750. I caught the big one off a rattletrap fishing stumps on points said Pelfrey.
In the Co-Angler Division, Damon Phillips from Anderson, South Carolina won with three bass going 10.62 pounds. He sealed his victory with a 5.86 pound kicker to pocket a check for $1,000.
"I had a really good boater today that put me on the fish. I was fishing worms anywhere from 1 foot to 10 feet deep. I probably caught 20 or so fish total," said Phillips.
Taking second for the Co-Anglers, Kenny Newborn from Hephzibah, Georgia brought in a three-bass division limit weighing 9.89 pounds. He collected $400 for the effort. "I caught several fish today. The three I weighed in came off a Z-Man TRD real deal and a shad rap," said Newborn.
Jason Hueble of Whitmore, South Carolina placed third among the Co-Anglers with three bass going 9.63 pounds. He anchored his catch with a 6.59 pound kicker to earn $300. "I caught 4 fish today said Hueble. Three on a texas rigged worm and one on a trickworm," stated Hueble.
In fourth place among the Co-Anglers, Gerald Glouse of Easly, South Carolina weighed in three bass weighing 9.63 pounds.
Eddy Morgan of Denver, North Carolina finished in fifth place with three bass at 8.67 pounds.
The biggest bass for the Co-Anglers was caught by Jason Hueble of Whitmore, South Carolina and weighed in at 6.59 pounds. Hueble collected an additional $165.
Slated for 05/20/2017 the next divisional tournament will be held on Lake Russell out of the Calhoun Falls state park in Calhoun Falls South Carolina. At the end of the season, the best anglers from across the nation advance the 2018 Ray Scott Championship, slated for the Red River in Shreveport-Bossier Louisiana in April 2018.

Emery Takes the Win on Eucha Lake
Angler Rob Emery of Coweta, OK, dominated the field in ABA Division 65’s tournament held Saturday, June 22, 2019, with a nice bag weighing 19.80 lbs. He also had a nice kicker fish weighing 7.40 lbs. to garner “big bass” honors for the day receiving over $325 in cash prizes for his effort.
Kentucky Lake Division July 14, 2019
The ABA Couples Tour, Kentucky Lake Division completed their 6th tournament of 2019 this Sunday. The weather was nearly perfect with cooler temperatures, overcast skies and a slight breeze all day. The fish however, were not in a perfect mood. Sixteen teams participated today out of the Paris Landing ramp. It was a tough bite all day. A total of 20 bass were brought to the scales for a combined weight of 59.2 pounds. We paid out a total of $1,350.
Pelfrey Makes it Two In A Row With A Win On Watts Bar.
ATHENS, Ala. –Coming off a win on Lake Douglas, Jonathan Dale Pelfrey of Rockwood, TN won the Bass Pro Shops Open Series event held on Watts Bar Lake on 7/13/19. Running out of Tom Fuller Park in Rockwood TN, Pelfrey weighed in a five bass limit weighing 15.19 pounds. He took home $1500.00 for the win.
Davis and Butler win a new Triton boat on Lake Guntersville
Sunday, May 5th, 2019 the ABA Triton 100% Plus Team Tour held its second tournament of the regular season that launched from Goosepond Bait and Tackle on Lake Guntersville located in Scottsboro, AL. Eighty-three teams went head to head, on a sunny but windy day, to try and win the 2019 Triton 17TX powered by a 60HP Mercury four-stroke with Garmin Echo-map plus 93SV valued at 20K. With a massive six-and-a-half-pound lead over 2nd place, Seth Davis and Brent Butler took the victory weighing in 5 fish for a whopping weight of 29.69 pounds.
