FL Central and FL South Head to Kissimmee
ATHENS, Ala. – The Ram Truck Open Series Florida Central division and Florida South division will hold their final event of the 2016 season on September 24th and 25th on Lake Toho.
The competitors will launch from Kissimmee Lakefront Park landing in Kissimmee, Florida. Anglers may begin fishing at 7:00 a.m. or safe light on days one and two. The weigh in will begin at 3:00 p.m. each day. All anglers will compete both days of the event. There will NOT be a cut in the field.
Registration begins at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23rd at the ABA stage trailer at Kissimmee Lakefront Park. Registration for this event ends at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 23rd with the meeting and partner pairing starting at 7:00 p.m. local time.
All anglers are required to have a Florida freshwater fishing license.
Anglers fishing the Boater division may weigh in up to 5 bass each day at least 12 inches in length with an exemption permit available at registration. Co-Anglers may weigh in up to 3 bass each day at least 12 inches in length with an exemption permit available at registration.
Lake Toho and connecting bodies of water will be off limits to all competitors beginning Monday September 19th through Wednesday September 21st. Official practice begins Thursday September 22nd through Friday September 23rd.
To qualify, anglers must have fished a total of three events within a division or a combination of four events within the two divisions. To enter, anglers fishing the Boater division pay $300 and Co-Anglers pay $150.
First place Boater is guaranteed a minimum of $10,000. First place Co-Angler is guaranteed a minimum of $5,000. In addition, the winning Boater and winning Co-Angler will win a new SIMMS Challenger rainsuit direct from SIMMS Fishing valued at $400.
Also, the top 20 Boaters and the top 20 Co-Anglers from the two day event will qualify for the Ray Scott Championship on Old Hickory Lake in April 2017.
In addition to cash and prizes for top finishes, boaters and co anglers fishing this tournament and Ram Truck Open events throughout the season may also win contingency bonuses from such sponsors as Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards, Motorguide, T-H Marine, Abu Garcia, Maui Jim and Livingston Lures. Registration & Meeting will be at the ABA Stage Trailer Friday September 23, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with the meeting and partner pairing starting at 7:00 p.m.
Please read the rules as they pertain to the Area Championship. The lake is off-limits Monday thru Wednesday the week of the tournament. Official practice days are Thursday and Friday only after anglers have paid for the event.

R. V. Mann Jr. wins on Lake Gaston
R. V. Mann Jr., of Whitkers, North Carolina won the AFT Division 17, North Carolina Central tournament on Lake Gaston. The event was held on Lake Gaston on 17 November 2018, launching out of Salmon Landing (Little Stonehouse Creek) off of 903 in Littleton, North Carolina. It was a tough day of fishing starting off in the lower 30’s, warming to around 55 in the afternoon.
Kerry and Heather Wilson win on Lake Jordan
ATHENS, Ala. – Kerry and Heather Wilson won the American Couples Series, operated by American Bass Anglers, Central Alabama Division 1 tournament, held November 10, 2018, on Lake Jordan. Running out of the Bonnor’s Landing, the team caught 5-bass weighing 10.31-pounds. For the victory, they earned a check for $405.00. The Wilson’s caught their fish on swim jigs.
